Alexis Sanchez

Sánchez was never a goalscorer but his embarrassing performances in front of goal are rather worrying. Adriano has scored more goals this season than him ffs! Not good enough. Especially given the service and the amount of chances our team creates in each game. Pedro is not any better with only 7 goals this season. Sure with Messi around in this day and age we won't see a repeat of El Tridente during the 2008-2009 season but we can certainly expect more.

Thankfully Villa is reliable and world class goalscorer. If he stays fit then I don't doubt a second that he will be crucial for our success in the CL.

I am yet to make my mind up regarding the future of Sánchez. I admire his work-ethic, all the space his runs create, his pressing game etc. but at the same time I am disappointed by his passing, dribbling and obviously goalscoring.

Anyway I think he is a great asset to have and he is still young (24) and could develop further. But the question is whether we already have that kind of player in our squad (Pedro) and if so whether we should make room for a goalscorer like Neymar who could potentially replace Villa on the long run as well?

Anyway I am sure that Tito, Zubi, Rosell etc. are already thinking about this issue.

At least we will buy a central defender this time!!

He plays better than before... I wish that he will stay at Barcelona next season because I feel that he has a great potential and he can destroy everything (don't forget that he's just 24) and I wouldn't like to see this out of Barcelona.

IMO ,no !. He already has 2 seasons at Barca and overall he was bad. We need someone who is capable of finishing the chances he gets every game if we want to remain a real threat to the CL trophy. Thank God we have Villa who is a beast when it comes to finishing. Last season , almost after every game I said that it's too early to make a final opinion because he is young , he is learning , he is at a new club , bla bla bla , but this season he is even worse than the last one. I just can 't understand how a player that cost us 37 mil ( i think ) misses all those chances he gets. Even Torres would have had a minimum of 15 goals so far if he was playing for us instead of Alexis. And just when he finally plays decent enough and makes you hope that he is returning on the right track , he manages to completely f*ck up in the next game. In Italy he was a beast , taking on every defender , doing fancy tricks , even scoring 4 goals in a game but now not only in big games but also in small ones , he is a choke artist. Maybe if he scores against PSG , scores 2 goals in the semis , and 1 goal in the final , he would deserve another chance but for now , no way.

he surely doesn't give a shit about how's he playing. if there's $$ he's happy...

Yea that's why he accepted a comparatively low salary, and forced his old club into meeting Barca half way on his transfer fee. You should seriously do yourself a favour and forget about Aguero and Neymar as neither will happen even if we sell Alexis :)

No chance for Agüero. He earns approx €12M a year in wages (not to mention his proposed transfer fee).

If Villa stays next season, with him, Pedro, Tello, Cuenca, Iniesta and even Deulofeu competing for wing spots, we can manage without buying a replacement for Alexis. For the time being. Keep Villa, sell Alexis and invest in our defense. We can keep an eye out for wingers during the 13/14 season.

It'll probably be more like loan Alexis with a buy option than sell straight anyway.

Alexis' agent will next week be in Milan to discuss future. Possible personal deal with Inter. 20M fee, Inter wants loan+buy option. [gds]

So that could be around €5M a season to Barça.

"Halfway"?
Btw. Most players who joined in last few years accepted lower salary or less than they could have gotten elsewhere.

As for claiming that Adriano has it easier to score goals (from a full-back position) than Alexis

 I'm sure Aguero wouldnt possibly accept a cut in wages to play for Barca, the best team in the world, and stay at Man City, the second best team in the EPL - there's no comparison.

If you stop that video right when Alves receives the ball, you'll notice Messi waiting completely unmarked at the edge of the box, defenders flatfooted.

Great performance by Alexis against Rayo, he seemed more confident. He cut back on his diving. He was more aggressive in taking on defenders and able to retain the ball under pressure. His tiki-taka seemed to be finally coming together. He seemed more threatening and helped open up space for Messi and Villa. He also worked hard as usual. He made a few errors(one of which was a missed chance), but even Messi makes errors. He just needs to continue working hard in training and improving.
