Great performance by Alexis against Rayo, he seemed more confident. He cut back on his diving. He was more aggressive in taking on defenders and able to retain the ball under pressure. His tiki-taka seemed to be finally coming together. He seemed more threatening and helped open up space for Messi and Villa. He also worked hard as usual. He made a few errors(one of which was a missed chance), but even Messi makes errors. He just needs to continue working hard in training and improving.

Missing a handful of sitters is not a forward's great performance.

As for claiming that Adriano has it easier to score goals (from a full-back position) than Alexis
Well that was a well thought explanation ,You could have just ignored the comment i made, Nothing wrong with that, You don't have to argue and reply to every single opinion, But don't make a one liner comment and end it with a faceplam and count it as a genuine reply.
And next time actually bother yourself a bit to quote the person you're referring to.

Five sitters he missed? I dont think so.

The one he did miss, he was closed down, and had to hurry because a tackle was coming in from one side, which is why he dragged the ball past the post; it wasnt the sitter most people are describing it as.

Trequartista

The good
Thought yesterday was one of his best matches over the year, not afraid to run at defenders and great link up with Messi like last weekend as well, finishing wise its a real shame cause always goals will do you wonders in your career

First of all, he's not a forward, he's a winger. Secondly, he didn't miss any sitters, cetainly not a handful. There was only one good chance, but he was closed down so he had to rush and there were two defenders on the line. He did well in the game, especially the first half, maybe he did a bit less in the second half(but he still did a lot of good plays), but Barca did go 3-0 up so you can't really be surprised if that happens.

Though I like the guy, Alexis is clearely and under no circumstances nowhere near what is called a FC Barcelona material !

A good read, I agree...But it sort of just goes back to the original question, what's his purpose?...If we acknowledge he's not really a goalscorer or that he's playing out of position, what does the club do with him?...Do we really need another playmaker who isn't scoring?...Are we all to expect Leo to just score 90 goals every season while everyone else looks to serve it up on a platter for him?...Seems awfully one dimensional, even if we're talking the GOAT

The issue about space is very accurate...I think most of us can see that, he has difficulty operating without space to 'do his thing'...But how much space is he really going to see in this team with us facing 2 lines of 4, match after match?...Of course, I still don't buy that he's beating his man easily 1v1 as allas and others were suggesting...But I do see this is becoming a problem for the team overall, having complimentary attacking players to Leo who aren't looking to score but set Messi up...A big reason I like Tello in there because he isn't shy to go for goal...even Pedro has dropped off the radar in terms of attacking the goal

Playing out of position? So is David Villa & Cesc (kinda) and so were Ronaldinho, T Henry (for instance). No excuse

Alexis did well, his finishing was just poor.

This picture from tonight is really fitting for his overall Barca period:
