Alexis Sanchez

still don't get why people want him out, unless a very good forward is at least brought in to replace him.

Because, like I said Neymar-Messi-Sanchez attack is too small and they are all too similar players, which means they are more easily defended. And Neymar and Messi are not going anywhere so Sanchez is only candidate for transfer.

Who would you suggest should replace him? Honest question...

He was the best player in the first half if you value a forward who is all work rate, but totally incapable of being even a remote scoring threat. Alexis in the first half played like a wide midfielder, not a forward. His hard work rate is admirable, but I need my forwards to be scorers and scoring threats first and foremost. Unsurprisingly he was totally spent in the second half and his already low scoring threat turned into a nonexistent one.

Seriously, Barca's wingers total inability to threaten the goal is completely disrupting the offensive flow. Teams can just compact the middle and totally snuff the midfield and poor Messi who is being completely blanketed by at least 3 players. Every time he received the ball he had at least one player nipping at his feet.

That was not the case when Messi was out in the middle of the season though. All our forwards scored for fun and the opposition had a hard time with our unpredictability.

The Pedro and Alexis combo was fantastic when Messi was injured.

Its not like Messi tells them to leave their scoring boots at home. Not Messi's fault they can't finish tap-ins when he is on the pitch. Its not a valid excuse because even in their best season Messi scores more than them combined

If a player can't perform well while Messi is on the pitch then they will need to move on, however Sanchez had plenty of good games when Messi returned' and that's coming from someone who dislikes the Chilean.

Sanchez and Pedro both suffered from poor rotation that favored an out of form Neymar.

It's the Messi effect, in large part, IMO...Wide players have to take their markers on and draw others to them as they look for goal...But as it is and has been, everyone from the fans at home to the defenders on the pitch know that those wide players are simply going to give the return pass to the middle just outside the box...Rinse, repeat

One of the advantages of a player like Deulofeu who is not goal shy and that's what is needed, players like Samu, Villa or Henry who are goalscorers....Since the winter break and Leo's return, Pedro & Neymar each with 4 goals while Alexis has had 9...Everything else has largely fallen onto Messi's shoulders

To say that Deulofeu is not goal shy as an understatement. That guy is the most selfish Masia player I ever saw. He either don't know how to pass, is not aware where his teammates are, or simply doesn't care.

He was rubbish in the last 3 Everton games , very , very disappointing .
