i think this is it. This is an extremely good overview why so many of the fans think he is a bit over rated and bla bla.

You give him that freedom, the one he get in chilli and he will be the boss. The red dot on the left proves my point, several time i have tried to make. They make him stay wide right on the line just to keep the defense stretched.

I think this has to be changed if you want him to be another threat on the goal.

And if you put rues in the position i think he would be worse.

Too bad his haters refuse to see and understand that.

Btw, Reus heat map vs Madrid.

Great find. This is exactly why I want him to be sold

However I think he'll stay so how do we get more out of him? He'll never have space at Barca but maybe Lucho can give him freedom to roam about? He suffers from having to defend and cover for Alves too.

Wait, do you want him sold because Tata gave him strict tactical orders to hug the flank?

Why not bring the heat map for the previous 2 seasons as well

To what effect? Both Tito and Pep played him virtually identically.

As we've all seen countless times before with Chile and Udinese, it's all down to the coaches how he plays.

Completely pointless because being utilized on both wings over the course of entire seasons has informative value limes inferior in comparison.

There you go:

see what I mean ?

This. It's all down to what role he has to fulfill and whether or not he has space in front of him.

So we bascially have 4 players that require a free role in order to flourish. Well that sucks. Messi, Don, Nerman and Alexis

I want him sold if he's going to continue to play this role. If Lucho believes we need a player to operate solely in that area then id' like Sanchez to move to a different club where he can play his Chile or Udinese role.

Perhaps we could play Messi deeper and allow Alexis to go in front of him.

Like a 4-1-2-1-2 as I have suggested before. Its the same 4-3-3 but with a LS and RS with Messi as CAM instead of the False 9 and RW/LW. Its not like we do anything useful with the width

And what winger should we get to replace him? I wonder how the likes of Reus would react if they were told to play as stifled as Alexis is

That's not for me to decide or figure out. I look forward to see how Deulofou handles the task... hopefully Lucho changes the role of both wingers and we never have this discussion again.

The thing is, what I believe you, and numerous others in here, refuse to realize, is the fact that very few players would look good when put in the situation that Alexis has been over the past years. His natural play style has been stifled so badly it should be punished as a crime, and still it seems like he has started to adapt reasonably well.

And no, I'm not surprised you can't name anyone who'd do better under the circumstances that Alexis was put in. Just about any single world class player I can think of would be hampered by those tactics. And yeah, hopefully Lucho will think out of the box in regards to this problem - that we can agree on.
