You are right. But you should tell that to the manager, not the players. Both him and Neymar have demonstrated the have great quality. Now it's the duty of the manager to make sure that quality, which we know is there (or should know), is showed on the field, through great performances.
Instead of denying the value, which is pretty much certified at this point, maybe we should all focuse on how to make that value show more often. I know some don't like him, but we should not confuse preference for a player with his quality.
Not sure it is the manager when it's 3 seasons and 3 different managers that Alexis has averaged less than 2 shots per game in all competitions. It isn't the manager, it's the player and how he prefers to play.
However this should not be a knock on Alexis. It is not, because Barca are requiring him to score and be a scoring threat, but that's not what he should be playing as. He should be playing as the creative, energy tornado he is, not as the 2nd scoring option that he has been forced to be. 2 shots per game would be adequate for a creative, energetic and support winger. The Alexis of Chile.
The best thing that can happen to Alexis is for Neymar to blossom into a true and consistent scoring threat. Having 2 dominant and threatening forwards would allow Alexis to slot into that more comfortable and less pressured 3rd scoring option which will allow his true creative talents to shine.
However not so sure how quickly Neymar can turn into that. I still see Neymar as a better assister than scorer, which means Barca still have 2/3 forwards who are still better assisters than scorer. That still places a lot of the scoring threat and burden on Messi alone, which is liable to again be tightly marked rendered less efficient.
