- Well, he can pass (if that is a sign of greatness) just like some 20000 other players do in Europe.
- Creativity is a slight problem there, because after watching him for over half a year in this club + the EC, etc. I could detect ONE single creative solution by him. Not much.
- A bad first touch is alas once again not a sign of born a talent or greatness, rather shows the lack of needed skills, usually can't be ever changed.
- Other lacking qualities like: head-ball, speed, not understanding creative players, etc, etc. make him just the average camper with nothing outstanding, which corresponds to the opinions of the entire press and other sort of reliable sources.
Thus I'm positive that you (and some others) are simply dreaming about him to become someone who will be kissed by the magic frog and will suddenly become the princess.
Not impossible but not probable either...
He can't just pass, he can pass very well and on long distances as well. His passing range is very good and his passes are consistently precise.
A bad first touch can also be down to low confidence and getting used to more pressure at a new club. This is the part of adapting, learning how to cope with more pressure is the most important part of the adaptation process.
He has creativity, and I believe he will show that more often next season. If given trust.
Speed is not great, that is true and it will not change much.
An average camper is not pursued by Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus, 3 of the 5 best teams in the world. He clearly has qualities.
