I go to work wondering if we'll manage to sign a striker before the first preseason game. I'm off work now and I'm still wondering if we will but now I see we signed yet another midfielder.

I get it, depth is cool and all, but we still don't have a single actual backup to MSN ("But Denis/Arda can play there" doesn't count) and we still don't have a RB on the entire team. If we were willing to drop this kind of cash on a player we don't even need we could have found a RB somewhere.

tbh I am quite not sure about this deal,and I can fully understand the 2 sides of the argument .
Make no mistake,Andre is a good player,very good one.good overall passer,strong,tall & tough.has a lot of talent too and age is on his side.
On the other hand there is a lot of weakness in his game and a legit question of fit and whether he is suited to replace Iniesta in the starting lineup in a year or two.because I surely hope we didn't pay such sum for a long term bench player.
He isn't creative dribbler or passer like Iniesta,He can't control the game like Xavi.
I honestly would have preferred the club to wait a year to see what we have with the young lads.but if Gomes worked out well he is gr8 addition.

So who's the closest to Gomez in world football ???? Who's he like ??!!

He must have some great strengths as the Masrid forums are in mourning at losing him .....especially to us .!?

I think one of the big points that is being missed here is that everyone expects a sure thing.

If you look at it logically, this deal makes a lot of sense. In finance, you don't always invest in the most obvious choices. Gomes gives us a fairly talented player with youth on his side and the option to almost certainly recoup our losses if things go south with him.

This is shrewd business, albeit ludicrous business. But the football market has become a ludicrous world.

But its a worrying trend if clubs are going to start to accept less money as long as they dont sell to Real Madrid. We have to make sure to make absurd demands to Valencia next time they want to loan a player, buy a bench-warmer.

He is a Real Madrid fan. Btw don't count Masch as DM for us. Roberto can fill the job though as a sub at least. If busi gets injured we might be forced to try masch at DM again.
