This poll was conducted not even halfway through the season.
It's always difficult to sell 'promising' players after just one season.
Gomes was brought in unexpectedly which raised a lot of eyebrows at the time. A few high ranking officials tried to justify the signing by saying that he is a promising young talent.
Selling him now would make them look bad. For the sake of self preservation, I can't see Gomes leaving. Those who are backing him have a lot of power and they don't want egg on their face, not yet at least. However I feel like they are just delaying the inevitable.

I really think he will be great next season .. he's only 22 isn't he and I know that the. Real Madrid officials were absolutely gutted when he chose us over them and probably have a better scouting system than ours !!
Sure they were. They only have Kroos, Casemiro, Isco, Modric, Kovacic, Asensio and James. They were GUTTED for sure.

Ah, the good ol' "Real Madrid wanted him so he must be good" argument.
Real Madrid is very prone to buying duds, though. Danilo should still be fresh on the minds of everyone. If not him, them maybe some people remember Illaramendi? By getting Gomes before Madrid all we did was save them from another one of those signings.

I agree, just because Madrid and Juve "wanted" him doesn't mean he was good... Especially with Mendes pulling the strings...
Kroos would be shit if he played for Barcelona. You'de be saying he doesn't fit in.
Casemiro would be so shit for Barcelona he's be slayed eveyday on these forums.
Same with Kovacic. He's be shit in this Barcelona team. Asensio would be like a Tello. Be slated for being to young and making the wrong decisions and being asked for a loan out.
Isco would stand half a chance. And Modric and James would be a success. All this crap about Real Madrid having all these great players is nonsense and a excuse.
They are the same as always. It's the coach, the defensive, aggressive counter attack system they play with a excellent C. Ronaldo to poach goals from Crosses and corners.
Putting these young Madrid players into this Barcelona team would not change a thing unless it was Modric.
When next coach comes and sees for himself that Gomes has no technical abilities to play for us he'll be frozen out and we'll dump him for nothing next summer. No more Lucho pampering him. It's Barca being stuck with crap and losing even more money and Gomes wasting a year.

Or next coach will find a way to use his talent better than Lucho did and make a good/great player out of him.
Anyway, his agent is Mendes so we'll always have a chance to sell him for a good money. That's why I'm willing to give him another season.
