I remember same situation with Alexis,he was probably the worst Barca player in last decade in 12/13 season,that amount of videos trolling him back then was hilarious. was just absolute disaster. I wanted the club to sell him for anything around 20M and cut our loses,but next season and under our worst coach in past 14 years he made a come back and we sold him for around 42M
Not that I am against selling him,but again would understand if the board decided to gamble on him one more year

Chyg being sold had nothing to do with his injury record. It was just obvious early on he wasnt good enough despite Guardiola making out he wanted to keep him.

Gomes, Digne, Denis and Umtiti were promising signings for the future, not for the present. While Umtiti turned out to be a success from day one, the others need more time. When it comes to player quality Barça is still top3, so the expected standards are very high and most younger players struggle to find their spot, especially when the coach makes weird decisions.

Pre-season will be very important. It is pathetic that Gomes will (probably) miss a part of it due to the fucking needless Confederations-Cup. Those international events are a pain in the ass for all big clubs.

Thats the exception. Its more common to loan them out after one season so we can reduce the wage bill, like Hleb and Caceres and other flops. Varmaelen hardly played at all and was loaned out as well.
