This guy can't defend, please Lucho, never play him at DM again...

Obviously, it's not his fault, I just hope he is not a permanent solution for DM depth...

Sergi Roberto is the best and smartest player to be our DM backup. But until we get Ricardo Pereira from Nice or Fabinho from Monaco as RB cover, Roberto must stay at RB, where he, not surprisingly to me is fantastic.

I honestly don't remember him doing anything wrong vs Atletico. Think he played well, given the circunstances.

I don't remember details right now, but I am certain that I swore at him once or twice because he was out of position. Need to rewatch to remember.

But Busquets is also disappointing right now in this matter, so apparently we are just fucked.

I think he played ok but of course it will always be a dropoff in quality from Busquets to whoever replace him, especially when sub has to come into the game suddenly and against an opponent like Atletico. That's a hard task to ask from anyone, especially from a player who has been with the team for 2 months. It's still early for Gomes and he'll become better (as CM and I also believe as DM if he'll continue to play there which I think he will) with more playing time and better understanding of the system and his role.

I can't pinpoint any specific action, with the exception of one counter-attack where he kept receding instead of actually stopping it, the player with the ball right in front of him even looked surprised he was giving him so much space, I'll try to watch the game again and get the exact minute... But overall he was out of position (like in the goal) and he didn't look like he knew what he was supposed to do when ATM had the ball, so he ended up being halfway-there in most plays where he was needed...

I repeat, this is not on him, the guy was just placed there for no reason at all, other than Lucho's weird "experiments", so Gomes is not where the fingers should be pointing...
