He showed promise, however what we needed before the season was not promise but a player who you can call up on at any time when one of our midfielders is injured and he'd do the job flawlessly. Gomes might become a world class player but we need one now, not in 2 or 3 years.
Are people seriously blaming this on Gomes? Did your mothers drink when they were pregnant? I suggest you grab your pitchforks and move to the Busquets thread.
Nobody is blaming him as far as I can tell... People are just saying he's not good enough just yet, which is true...
The loss can't be pointed at him at all, he didn't do anything outrageously wrong except for that miss, but we need more from him and that's something we can't hide...
He finally started to show some quality but still he's way too slow in both movement and thinking and he also commits lots of errors.
I'm convinced he needs much more time to prove his worth but I'm unsure it'll happen.
