Andre Gomes: "I am feeling comfortable at Barcelona."

Gomes: "I'm grateful for the faith shown in me by coach because it's important to have continuity in play and that can only come with games"

Gomes: "Adapting to the team's style of play is tough because Barça way of playing is different."

Gomes: "All teams play deep against us and you have to look for [different] ways to create chances."

Gomes: "We deserved to win the game we because we created a lot of chances. It was a fair result."

Gomes: "[Messi] always appears. It's true he didn't score in the first half but in the second he had his chances and he took them."

Gomes: "Messi's always there to help the team."

That's why the team needs players who understand that "difference".
The turtle is trying to change and accommodate to be a leopard...

All teams? Including Real M.? But as the season's start shown, those who don't play deep against us, could either relatively easily beat us or steal two points.

He plays with a lot of caution. I think he needs time. I wasnt really for the signing but now that he is here he should stay at least another season. He has a lot of Busquets qualities, probably not why we signed him, but he could be a decent as a DM. He has strength, good control, bit cautious but with time if he grows in confidence he could be better in his attacking. He seems very humble too so if he has real quality, with time i believe he will prove it.

Time will tell.

Feels like being in the middle of a time-travel oriented sci-fi movie, where the midfielder hero travels in time to meet the next coach, who is happen to be not the one willfully spending the value of a mid-range Boeing or Airbus plane on our hero, so doesn't favor him. All the hero wants then is returning in time to reconcile the original setup and when the previous coach leaves, he takes with him his ever-time-dependent favorite hero-doll...

I think he is fine in Rakitic role when Iniesta is on, just dont put Rakitic and Gomes in at the same time, pls!

Based on Osasuna and Gladbach, sure.

Rakitic was proven great against toughest of opponents in last 2 years and we will be very lucky if Gomes ever emulates that.

I feel like Rakitic "sacrificed" his playstyle. When i see him playing with Croatia he is way better, he looks sharp. But with us he has to cover the right side because Messi isn't defending (I don't blame him, he is Messi) and because our RB is pretty much a RW. When Alves was still there, he handled his defensive tasks quiet well so Rakitic could create more, with Roberto it's a little bit more complicated. Maybe this is why he doesn't look that good now. However he brings some sort of stability, specially against tough opponents when we have to go all out. I don't know if Gomes is willing to put that much effort to keep that stability or if he is experienced enough to even think about it.

The thing that annoys me the most (besides that he isn't capable of playing an unpredictable pass) is that he isn't even that good defensively, which would seem as one of his redeemable traits. I've seen players get past him way too easily. Samper is much better at holding opponents at bay.

Don't wanna say it that soon but imo Barca must sell him in the summer in order to recuperate some of the impressive amount of money spent on him...

I agree, but as http://www.sport-english.com/en/barca/ writes:
After arriving from Valencia for an initial fee of 35 million euros, Robert Fernandez said he was "an opportunity" which couldn't be turned down, with those comments dating back to his performance at Camp Nou on Apr. 18 of this year.
He put in a performance which impressed Barça's coaching team as Valencia won the game. From that moment, the Portuguese midfielder became an obsession.

If it is really an "obsession" of theirs then we are doomed...
Obsession as such could be an admirable occurrence of self induced stubbornness of the staff, but closer to overzealous stupidity or blindness, introduced by emotionally based decisions on the bier of our future...

Absolutely agreed, Rak is going through a dip in form that is lasting a little longer than expected, but he has enough credit for that... I would play him in every single though match we may face this season without having a second thought...
