he was presented like the next big thing but i don't see anything that would justify that,he is way overpaid for what he is showing,and even worse he is usually substitute,so 40 millions for a player who is not a starter and who hasn't showed anything (yet) is bad deal of business

Rakitic is a very good player who plays in a bad position this season, due to the fact that there's no more Dani Alves, which screws up the entire right side of this team...

Agreed. Maybe it was off the back of the euros, although he didn't stand out in that and was nothing special for Valencia.

The worrying part for me is the 50m price tag, we've committed ourself to him with that for at least 2/3 seasons.

Not at all. The typical Barça midfielder is short, quick, good at short dribbles, and can pull out brilliant passes from any distance. Being none of these, André is totally out of his depth there.

He's a got some good attributes - most of them offensive - but his decision making is slow-ish and very far from Barça standard. His main virtues serve Barça nothing. I'm sure he could do well in other clubs though.

They'll probably get rid in the summer or soon after, and imo it would be for the best for both sides.
