Guys, do you reckon Iniesta playing the 2009 UCL final while injured, affected our chances against Inter the next season. Because I heard cause of the injury he played through in '09, his 2009-10 season was ravaged by injuries, causing him to miss the Inter tie and greatly affecting our chances of reaching the dream Bernabeu UCL final.

One of the most underrated performances by him. I remember watching this game randomly 2 weeks ago and looking at the difference of Barcelona before he came on and after he came on. Living legend.

Love Iniesta, but this is a good example of the Neymar effect. Unfortunately, once Neymar was a starter on the left side, the effect was to relegate Iniesta to a much more static, deeper, boring support role.

I would never describe anything Iniesta did on the pitch as boring.

I miss him, too. The whole Pep-era team. But putting Neymar in front of Iniesta killed a lot of opportunity for Iniesta to show his talent. Neymar would either try to dribble his marker or hold the ball, slowing down the play. And Iniesta had to cover for him defensively as well. Turned him into much less of a creative and less attacking player. No fault of his; he just adapted to what the coach required of the team.

Older players aren't that big for most kids who didn't witness their glory, with very few exceptions, Messi and CR7 are the ones that will be known names for every kid born from generations alpha and beta or whatever their names are.

The likes of Iniesta will be always known for those who followed football closely.

Speed and streamers are today's stars, just like Lamine, Mbappe, Halaand in football.

As for Iniesta's kid, he probably see footballers on weekly basis, unlike streamers.
