Andrés Iniesta

That award goes to the best player in the world, and that is Leo. Iniesta is a legend, and a great player in his own right, but its not too often that you find players who can assist and score at such magnificent rate and make a difference like Leo.

Iniesta though is a genius at what he does.

The problem is that ronaldo got it and he's nnot better than iniesta.

I agree, but for the past few years that award has been given to the best player from the world aside from this year. Problem is, Ronaldo carries a bigger aurora than Iniesta in terms of popularity.

But I agree, Ronaldo is too individualist. Give me an Iniesta who makes a team play, and plays amazingly so, over someone who wants to take the glory for himself all the time. Now why Ronaldo won it? I don't really know, but he wasn't the only player deserving of the award.

I think that if he keeps playing this way and Spain wins the World Cup ( with Argentina not being in the final ) , Iniesta whould win the Ballon D'or this time. It pisses me of really bad thinking that Iniesta didn't win it when he won the world cup and Ronaldo won it last year without any trophy.

Andres Iniesta has now scored 3 goals in the Liga this season, as many as he scored in the whole of last season #fcblive [via @whoscored]

Cruijff's Heir
1. Xavi
2. Iniesta
3. Messi

And we'll see who becomes 4th. I don't like loosehead Pique and silent Biscuits. I'd say Cesc can take 4th spot, he already captained Arsenal anyway.

Well, Iniesta is silent too... However, I think a captain is much more than a loud voice, he should carry the values of the club and inspire respect both from our team and the opposition, and Iniesta surely has that!

yep well written article. iniesta is tough as nails characterwise and he's also one of the mentally strongest professional athletes i've seen, he seems to be completely immune to pressure.

btw, on the subject of why he shoots so well all of a sudden with his left foot: I always had the impression that his "subpar" shooting is related to the injury in his right thigh that he sustained around the 2009 cl final, that he either carried some mental blockade that prevented him from hitting 100 % or that he just deliberatly chose not to because of the reinjury risk. maybe he doesn't have these issues with the left foot, hence the recent steam hammer shots.

Are you drunk again, buddy? Because, you know, that's crazy talk right there. Cesc isn't a fantastic finisher by any means, but he's still clearly superior to Iniesta. As much as I adore Iniesta, he just doesn't have that finishing instinct in him. You can see he's downright uncomfortable when finishing (most of the times, at least), it just doesn't come natural to him, it seems.
