Because Austria can´t make it too a WC or a EC:VdB:

Heast, no need to make us smaller than we are! We were at the ec 2008. okay so maybe we hosted the damn thing... but still we were there. We even scored a goal, ffs, a bloody penalty gift of a goal!

no but seriously in austria it's basically mandatory to adopt a successful football nation for supporting at the big tournaments, because you never get to cheer otherwise. Our nt has really been bad for decades.

liking spain makes sense as a barca fan, they play similar technical appealing football, many barca players also play for spain, and in the current generation, even the non barca players are a likeable bunch, their coach is a class act, etc

So i wouldn't call it weird. Or weirder than, say, a catalan independentista from sweden like galning :)

If Xavi really leaves, I hope Andres is the 1st captain. He never disappears when needed, and he'll be really needed next season.

True his football is pure magic and he is as big game player as they come. His personality is a bit quiet for my liking as a team captain. Often times a team with low morale or defeated needs someone with grit and fire to help rise the team up.

He can surprise people at times with his commanding presence, imagine when playing as captain :D

This should be a lesson to anyone putting him on the same pedestal as Xavi. Iniesta is a player who does some very nice things on the pitch. But Xavi is (or was) THE system. Since his level dropped Spain and Barca aren't even playing anything remotely close to "tiki-taka" anymore. Doesn't matter Tito, Tata or del Bosque. No prime Xavi, no party. Iniesta ain't stepping up and filling his role and dictating play. He's a tier below.

Deal with it. :coffee:

I heard Tata told the board he couldn't cope since November and that he wasn't up for doing physical training and that the likes of Busquets, Iniesta, etc. would try to get personal physical trainers. Explains a lot.

Not been the same player he was for me these past couple of seasons.

Had some good games and brilliant moments but not the same constant force in game as he was a few years ago.

Doesnt look as fit or as good defensively as he was.

Maybe it wasn't that iniesta isnt good enough but that he had to try and do both his and xavi's job because even if he were to do xavi's job alone, no one could do his? In the game he had to go deep then drive the team forward then try to get into position to fulfill his normal role, unfortunately Silva is no Iniesta.

He had some nice touches, played a lovely ball to Costa and forced Bravo into a brilliant save. Spain were a lot better in the second half.
