Ángel Di María

70 mill + 15 variables? Great deal, no matter if he was very good last season, United must be desperate. I cant say i understand Di Maria though, United might come good again, they might not. But right now, United is far from a top club, and the weather is bad. Apart from the wage, i cant see how anyone would pick United over a real.

L'Equipe that quotes spanish sources from this morning has this figure:

75+15. Believed to be 85M because among those 15M as variables, Madrid is almost assured to get 10M. It will only be 15M if MU wins the PEL i believe.

85M. Great deal for Madrid, really. Especially since last summer he was valued at half of that at best IIRC.

5 is performance based, 5 is if he wins the premier league and 5 is if we win the Cl twice.

If you win CL twice in the next 3 years? No offence but I guess you'll need to pay only the 'performance' part ;)

Let's hope madrid get the entire 85 million.....PL isn't out of the question if we add 2 more world class signings next summer...

Di Maria is a very good player, but United show how desperate and just plain crazy they are by paying that outrageous amount of money for him.

I hope he works for them, partly because I truly like Di Maria and partly because it is sad to see United so diminished, but that is a crazy price to pay for that player.

Madrid made good business but when you look closr they changed james and di maria because both were the same price, so i dont think its good business because adm is much better

According to The Telegraph:
Di Maria will pocket a €6m signing-on fee and sign a five-year contract worth close to the €350,000-a-week wage earned by Wayne Rooney.

No wonder he left Madrid in such a hurry.

As an antimadridista, I want to say that Madrid are idiots for replacing him with James.

As a general football fan though, its easy to see he left them and rejected their offers like Carlo said he did when MU are paying him that much.

Man Utd must be shook over these past 2 results to pay him this much. I rate Angel high but he isn't worth the money they're shelling for him at all.
