The deal is for £36mil pounds which comes out at about €45mil euros. With the pound been a lot stronger then the euro at the moment
This just shows how you have no idea what you're talking about and your views are formed by comments that were thrown about last season and not by watching the player. Shaw is without a doubt worth the fee based on how he's performed this season and I'd pay 30 million again even with the benefit of hindsight..
Shaw (20), Alaba (23), Rodriguez (23), Kurzawa (22), Guerreiro (21, 22 in December). Shaw just turned 20, he's 2/3 behind development to those LB's and the only two I would say who are better then him are Alaba and Rodriguez.
Shaw will be up there with LB's like Alaba in the next 1/2 years. He's been fantastic this season.
Shaw is nowhere close to Alaba, let alone Rodriguez or Kurzawa. Guerreiro needs to do it for more than one season, but he's a prodigy going forward. On the other hand, there's nothing exceptional about Shaw. He's just English.

Nowadays it seems as if there is no justification behind signing young players anymore, because practically they cost as much as ready-made players. The whole point of why young-players are smart investions goes completely missing.
Depends on the player. You have Neymar and James cases. Both expensive young players, but still good investments. Take a look at James. He cost around 80m. Now, he's worth more than that. Neymar is an even better example. If he were to leave, we could get almost double the sum we payed for him (salary aside).
You actually need to be able to estimate if a player is worth it or not. Neymar and James were worth it, but both were stars before they joined their clubs. Martial for example is not even close to the level of James before he signed for Madrid, and yet, Monaco is asking almost the same money for him.
His defending is very good, his pace is exceptional, there's nothing wrong with his passing or distribution. He does need to improve going forward and with his crossing, but he's just turned 20, out of his teenage years. You're quite clearly being critical because he's 'English'.

The thing is City and PSG have ruined the market, especially City. They overpay with an ease that is mind-boggling. Like it doesn't even matter that they pay 80m for a 45m. worth of player.
