I can’t deny that Suarez in his prime was better than Griezmann but Suarez today is definitely worse option for Barca than Griezmann. Will we go back to false 9 or not I don’t know but we for sure can’t have another player alongside Messi who doesn't play defense at all and whose current passing capabilities are on the level of 12 year old child.

Also when Suarez doesn’t play as a CF (in 4-3-3 or maybe 4-2-3-1) but as LF (in 4-4-2) he is totally ineffective since he is slow as a turtle. He might be a great option to have on the bench and he for sure won’t be happy with that but who cares.

IMHO Suarez also has big fucking problem with his fitness level. He is just to fat nowadays and slower than ever before. Try to compare his pictures from Lpool and today and it’s clear as a day he has few kilos more. When you add those kilos to his years you get much slower player than he was few years ago. When he had Neymar on the left and Messi on the right he could hide those flaws as he was acting only as a predator in the penalty box but now he is being exposed big time. Maybe if Griezmann comes and he ends up on the bench he’ll start to work hard again but I sincerely doubt that.

His ball retention, link up play, movement which is very important is leagues above Suarez right now. More clinical than Suarez too. Not the same type of player, but if we can return to a 4-3-3 with Messi False 9 or manage to change to a 4-2-3-1, he's a big upgrade.

There have been very few strikers better than Suarez in his prime in European football history, but Suarez is way past his prime now.
