Antoine Griezmann

Just buying players is not going to help. Remember when Figo left and we just kept buying players. All of them flopped.

Griezmann is talented but we need a player of intensity who is clutch in the big games.

Before you buy a player you have to ask yourself if he can add something to your team. Griezmann is class in link-up play, has a very high workrate for a striker and is not as clinical as prime Suárez but still very good. I'd say he is a big upgrade in terms of combination game if you look how many times Suárez ruins an attack with bad first touch and things like that. Messi needs players for one two's around him and both Coutinho and Griezmann are good at it which will give Messi the opportunity to come into more dangerous places.

What I missed above is that Griezmann is pretty fast and therefore should be a serious threat coming from the left while Messi plays his dangerous passes behind the defending line. Another positive is that you either have Griezmann or Suárez on the bench as impact sub.

If Barca gets him, someone will get benched, and they wont be too happy about it.
Messi cant be benched, but then, Griezmann isnt really a striker, and occupy the same spot as Messi, put him out wide and Coutinho/Dembele will be benched.

We should start benching Messi then. He needs to be told that it is for his own good and the team's good.

Too bad.

If Griezmann proves to be an upgrade over the person he benches and the benched person doesn't like it, he can leave.

Suarez is the only logical choice for the banch mate.

But then you play without a real number 9, it could probably work, but still.
Chewy Suarez might bite someone if he gets benched though...

He can bite his own toes off and he will still have the first touch of a rapist.

Needs to be benched. Badly. If Griezmann gets here, tell him that he will play less games next year and reduce his wages.

Well you can’t reduce wages just like that. Contract is an obligatory agreement between two parties so it can not be changed by just one side. :D

I know. Give him a new one with reduced wages if he wants to stay. Otherwise try to sell him.

The only player that can get away without defending should be Messi, but somehow Luis can do this too. If we have 2 defensively working forwards (Griezmann and Dembele), we should be a lot better defensively and could revert back to 4-3-3 or 4-3-2+1 (Messi in a free role).
