20 goals 10 assist in all comps for him is kinda meh

30 is the bare minimum, he had 20+12 last year.

More than 40 is very unlikely, he only did that once with Atleti and losing Messi as a creator is a big hit.

He was ranked 31st for G+A in top 15 leagues in all comps last year with 33 G/A.

Messi scored 7 pens and missed 3 last season.
If Griezmann had scored those 7 instead, he'd be on par with Cristiano and Lukaku at 40 G/A, ranked 11th.

We should expect at least 35 or maybe even 40 from him if he wants to be the main man.

Don't disagree with your point but Griezmann is not exactly a good penalty taker. According to TM he has scored 18 out of 28 pens so far in his career (64,3%) - not counting penalty shootouts. He might improve by taking them more regularly but I expect him and Memphis to share pens and FKs.

In comparision Messi is 101/130 (77,7%).

Memphis is close to that percentage as well but with much smaller sample size - 22/29 (75,9%).

And Aguero is the most proven penalty taker in current team - 48/62 (77,4%) but he clearly won't be undisputed starter if he'll ever be fit to play.

Oh, and Coutinho is 10/10 so maybe we should keep him just to take pens (until he'd miss the first one at least  )

Pretty good numbers actually. Surprised. Not to mention the quality he brings defensively. Every coach wet dream.

then you look at the finishes and where he scored. every coach wet dream my ass.

would rather he hit 15-20 liga goals that bring points, than adding up some random goals in copa and CL group games.

Just goes to show how deceptive stats can be, lukaku had 24 goals in league play & 11 assist, Ronaldo 29, 3 assist.

Griezmann 13 goals, 7 assist.

Weak sauce.

With Griezmann it's just not about his final ball, but what he does outside of it as well. With possession on your side it feels like playing with 9 outfield players, because Griezmann just seems to lack all sort of instincts and ability associated with forwards and attacking midfielders.
