Juve didn't want to send him. Nothing they can do about it.

Juve had to send him to Copa America if Argentina selected him, as the tournament was a part of the FIFA calendar.

The Olympics is not, thus, blocking his participation in Rio.

That's why I said he should had been called to copa. Argentina should had done like Brazil did with Neymar, and reach an agreement with juve. Or call him to copa.

No Dybala, who really should had been called for copa. Sigh.

It's a vastly weakened squad that could medal. Calleri comes in for Vietto as Atletico don't want to release both Correa and Vietto. Kranevitter is missing as well. Such is the mess at the AFA they can do nothing about it. Several of the Argentina clubs like Boca, River and Independiente have refused permission for players to play which is a real shame. Someone like Mammana would have been worth a watch partnering Musacchio. Cuesta and Gianetti are not released either although more players should take the route Rulli did. He was coming whether Sociedad liked it or not.

That midfield of Lo Celso , Romero and Ascacibar has great potential. The last player is the one that may end up becoming the worthy successor to Mascherano and plays very like him as well as being a capable passer and having enormous stamina. Runs hard in the ninetieth minute as he does in the first.

Sampaoli may take over next summer and coach the seleccion part time until then. But the real issue is dissolving the old AFA and establishing a modern, transparent organization that has the best interests of Argentine football both at club and international level rather than the interests of a set of greedy individuals.

Seems like Bielsa will be taking the ARG job, he quit as Lazio manager just after 2 days at the club.

Argentina don't really have many decent coaches so...

Bielsa in 1st year? Great. Bielsa in second year? God like. Bielsa in 3rd year? Absolute carnage. WC2018 is in 2 years.

Make of that what you will.

The rumour over here was that he was going to take the England job, but I suppose the Argentina job makes more sense!

I was just gonna say he better take the England job. Hope he gets it. He is a genius and Pep regards him as the best coach in the world. I am sure Bielsa and England will be a match made in heaven.

Let's start a campaign to push Bielsa for the England job. I really want him to have a job so his "genius' doesn't go wasted.

Not Bielsa. Sampaoli should take it, if he really has a clause releasing him.
