They don't need an overhaul but they need to start introducing new players so that they are comfortable in 2026.

This isn't a case of changing for the sake of it. Many players have done their jobs well with a lot of hunger and they won three major trophies in a row, kudos to them. It's only understandable the hunger dries up and tbf many of these players are pretty meh when the hunger is gone.

Can look at the example of Chile's golden generation with Alexis, Vidal, Bravo etc. In Copa 2021 they had like 3 players in the XI under 30, the rest were the old gang that won Copa 5 years prior. Not many of those veterans were influential for their clubs at the time. Of course Chile not at the same level of Argentina when it comes to churning out talent, but point of overplaying veterans/old winners remains.

Just hope Argentina doesn't reach that point where Scaloni tries to copy paste WC 2022 winners 4 years later.

Not Argentine. English. Watched Argentina for the first time in 86 & can remember the goal of the century, sun streaming into the living room, mum out with friends (didn't care for football) Dad had gone to the kitchen for a beer. Even as a small kid there was something about the way the ball was stroked around by the side & of course Diego.

Shouted for Dad you won't believe this. Hurry up to see the replay. It was mesmerizing and even then you could see what an incredible achievement that it was. Dad being an England fan was disappointed but he did enjoy great footballers & he rated Maradona, Hullit, van Haneghem ahead of Cruyff, Kempes & so on.

Only watched Argentina live twice in 18 at the damp squib v Italy at the Emptyhad & 22 at Wembley the Finalissima. That was one hell of a party. I know most of the Argentina fan songs so makes it even more fun.

That's me singing the anthem. Chap in front with cap was Carlos all the way from Racing Club in BA with his wife Bendicta. The passion & colour of the hinchas is the best in the world.
Thanks for the info mate - I have always liked them too as far back as 1986, when I was 4.

Great video too -love your passion and knowledge for the team.

Then he shouldn't be fouling him then, should he?

This is more related to Messi than Argentina. Why are you posting here?
When I got unbanned recently, they didn't unban me from the Messi thread. I can't post in that thread.

Do you think Leo is getting too much protection from the refs these days?

Oh, I actually didn't know that you can't post in the Messi thread anymore.

I honestly don't think that he is as even opposition who were on yellow should have received a 2nd yellow, so it goes both ways.
