Arthur

we really missed someone who is press resistant big time in not only in the big games but also La Liga teams have been pressing high as well whenever we have a goal kick. we alreayd have players who can make assists or create chances in the final third with messi, coutinho and dembele. We needed someone who can link the defense and attack without losing the ball. Although he's not going to magically transform our team into a CL-winning side all by himself, hopefully he can help busquets relieve that pressure and I'm happy we got Arthur before preseason rather than in Jan.

About this press resistance, Arthur is a guy who could help in a Cl in those moments.
About La liga, we had one defeat last season.
I don't see a need for a press resistance there.

On the other hand, guys, do you see a current Arthur as useful in La liga Camp Nou matches against a parked bus?

No press against us.
All we need is chances, shots and goals.

Since probably half of our La liga matches are like that, I don't think that Arthur will play THAT MUCH in la liga as a starter if his main traits will be: getting the ball from our box into an opponent's half under pressure and after that playing it safe in the opponent's third.

For example: currently, Arthur is better than Rafinha in getting the ball into the opponent's half. But once when the ball is there, a current Rafinha is offering more.
Denis also sucks in moving the ball into an opponent's half.
But when we are facing a parked bus, currently he offers more.

So, a player at Barca can't be good only in one thing.
So, short term and long term, Arthur will need to work on his attacking skills if he'll want to be a starter.

Playing it safe won't be enough.
Especially since Barca is probably the most attacking team in the world.

Not only that, but number of unsubstantiated assumptions made in that post is just breath taking. And that from two halves in preseason for fresh player, who hasn't been playing outside his home country before.

Why can't Argentina produce this kind of midfielders? They lacked an Arthur or two at WC.

Argentina does have a player similar to Arthur like with Paredes, but either they go to low leagues that give a lot of money or they are not that good enough.

Brazil haven't been producing them either. Ironically the two they've produced prior to Arthur in Deco and Thiago decided to play for Portugal and Spain respectively.

If their coach hasn't lost his marbles, he should start playing Arthur and Fred together and alongside that Real Madrid guy who's immune to red cards....

Brazil Had Hernanes to use in 2010 and 2014. But the managers were too stupid

We probably had other good cm opitions, but we were doomed with Felipao and Dunga.

We are forgetting Kaka. Was one of the best midfielders in the world when he was in AC Milan.

Kaka was an attacking midfielder almost a forward really. Also argentina do have an Arthur type in banega. There worst game in the world cup against Croatia was the one he didn't play in

Looking forward forward watching him tonight.

I do wonder how much he'll play once Rakitić returns and Vidal gets fit.

Im far too excited about Arthur. His subtle touches to avoid pressure are great to watch.

Its a good ting that Rakitic joins later, should give Arthur a good opportunity to show his qualities with the first team. Supercup vs sevilla is going to be pretty interesting. Ter Stegen, Alba, Lenglet, Pique, Semedo, Busquets, Arthur, Rafinha, Messi, Malcom and possibly Dembele should all start. Our squad this season looks insane.

Showed even more today and he looks really good. Can't wait to see him play with the likes of Coutinho and Busi.

Goddamn this guy... and then it occurs you he's only 21. Wow. Complete player, great defense-wise, promising going forward. Excited, at least.

In Libertadores you could see he was at a higher level than everyone else and since i saw his attitude both in and out the field and what it's said about him, i'm not afraid of saying he is the future of barça and this was a great signing.
