Arthur

In a few years time Xavi is gonna have to come here as a coach to fully unlock Arthur into a 1:1 clone of himself. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

You'll probably have to wait for 5+ years for that. He's not coming until Messi and the rest of the old guard is gone.

We couldn't connect 2 passes before he was on, and then we started making shit happen as soon as he came in.
I mean for every Vidal, Alena etc you need that Arthur to glue it together.

But it brings me to my next point, considering how Important Arthur is to the team now I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to find or promote someone that shares a similar skill set to him as a backup.

It's weird saying this considering he's only 22 years old himself but if he gets injured it wouldn't be good.

There's a hilarious photo of Arthur at practice, on the team website this week. The boy from Brazil is wearing a heavy balaclava and gloves, in Barca in October. You can't see if he's also wearing long pants. It's going to be a tough first European winter for this tropical dude. Maybe he should stay behind for the trip to PSV at the end of November, for the Liga away games up in the mountains this winter, and possible champions league knockout games away in true cold.

although Arthur is from the tropics, he lived since he is 14 in Porto Alegre.

this is just 90km NORTH of Porto Alegre, at the impressive altitude of 600 m

this article http://www.espn.com.br/artigo/_/id/...r-quase-r-50-mi-deve-ser-ativada-neste-sabado

says that Barça paid $32,8 million euros for Arthur. But there are several clauses of performance that will increase the total price to $42,8 million euros, if Arthur performs well...

there are additional sums for every 10 matches Arthur plays for Barcelona. Then sums for titles that Arthur wins at Barça. And a prize if Arthur gets elected one of the 55 best players in the world by FIFA. And a prize for the renovation, if it happens in the future. And of course, if Barça ever decides to sell him, 5% of the value.

A bargain for the quality he has shown so far.

Even if you add up all the variables he still went for nearly 20 Million euros less than his fellow compatriot in Fred, who is not only 3 years older than Arthur but also ended up riding the bench for the likes of Fellaini at United.

Quite something indeed.

You forgot he has also become a starter for Brazil NT in no time.
