Arthur

Probably Tite's worst call ever not to take this player at the World Cup.
Tite thought it was a brilliant idea to overload the Midfield with the same kind of skill set with very little variety as possible.

But on the flipside, Arthur actually got injured which apparently took him off the WC roster and was replaced by Fred. But eventually, Arthur won the battle vs Fred to nail down a possible starting spot for Brazil while Fred failed to make the Brazil Squad for the next International Break.

Thanks.up

I was hoping that guy who does these comps would upload one of Arthur vs Inter.

Unfortunately YouTube ramped up their IP violation claims lately and practically every player compilation gets deleted in no time.

Because he doesn't has the legs yet to play that much. Due to his class and the way he walked into that team people tend to forget that he played in Brazil 6 months ago. European football is physically more demanding, especially when you play many games in a row vs very good teams. He runs a lot and works hard for the team.

It will take Arthur a season to get used to the physical demands.

I already dismantled that myth, but I will do it again.

Brazilian clubs play 80 matches in a year.

if anything, he had to change his diet because he is playing LESS in Europe and was getting fat (and of course, also not playing since June)

He wouldn't be covering more distance pr. minutes played than both Rakitic and Busquets if he wasn't in good enough shape. Half the time, he's the one leading the pressure calling for others to join in while they're catching their breath.

That started with the Real Madrid game when Valverde set Arthur up to lead the press, especially when the opposition's keeper is about to take a goal kick. He's even farther forward than Suarez at times.

Why are people surprised that a player with a far lower star status is subbed off more often than Busi and Raki? Its completely predictable. Who else is going to be subbed off? Suarez, Messi, Coutinho? Big wage stars play all the time. Pique and Alba wont be subbed off either. Only Arthur and Roberto/Semedo can be subbed off.

That's retarded and isn't at all common practice everywhere. Competent coaches make subs from perspective of tactics and stamina.

I definitely agree with that, but Valverde is extremely predictable in this sense. Our big names are not likely to be benched or subbed off instead of a smaller name. Its not a stamina thing.

I'm shocked that Tite didn't realize this despite Paulinho playing under him for both Brazil and the Corinthians. Paulinho was never a Midfielder who would sit back, he was more of a Second striker than a Midfielder.

Recall Messicam (miss that guy) posting a similar one before Arthur came. One which didn't look all that good.
