I wasn't basing that on how they play football. If I was judging their intelligence based on how they play, then I'd consider players Messi one of the smartest people alive.

This is what i'm saying, you only know them by watching them play football, nothing more. So you can't really tell if they are intelligent or not.

They're in the spotlight enough that there's other information to base it on. Bonucci often plays intelligently on the pitch, but everyone now knows he's an idiot based on dressing room stories and his interviews. On the other side, a player like Kompany seems uncultured on the pitch but is quite smart based on his degree and the interviews he gives.

With Suarez, there's plenty to base him not being intelligent on: Biting, racism, his constant yelling at teammates and refs, being an idiot about managing his playing time, and never sounding too smart in his public comments.

He a genuine Barca midfielder, with all the qualities needed. I hope they find a way to fix his fitness issues and we'll be good to go.
I mean FDJ ran 14km(!) against England, in June, after this extremely long season with Ajax. Surely Arthur can improve in than aspect.

Frenkie has technique and IQ.
Which is required for Barca's midfielder.

But, Frenkie also has other allround skills which our other midfielders lack.

Frenkie can run a lot.
Raki can do that.
Busi to some extent.
Arthur can run only for 50 minutes.

Frenkie is fast.
Busi, Raki and Arthur aren't.

Frenkie has a good allround physique:
Pace
A nice height to offer a nice aerial options at defensive corners and crosses in Europe.
Stamina
And some muscles.

Busi lacks pace and muscles.
Raki lacks pace.
Arthur lacks height, pace and stamina.
Again, on paper, Frenkie has everything.

In the future, it would be nice to have more midfielders like Frenkie.
Who have technique and IQ, but also EVERY SINGLE physical skill.

Regarding Mundo's article about Arthur, it says in the end that a technical staff would like to strengthen Arthur's muscles, to continue with a diet and to improve his pace.

Regarding that sentence about Pace, I am happy that our club is slightly evolving (and moving away from 2011') and that they are realizing that for a CL level technique alone WITHOUT pace and some physical attributes is not enough anymore in 2020' or 2025'.

Not too bothered about the reports coming out regarding Arthur. Papers need to fill pages. Arthur is currently with the Brasil team for Copa America so lets see how he performs over there.

For next season, he definitely needs to evolve into a 90 minute player though. I am fine with his physical output this season considering he came straight from Brasileiro and the pace in europe is supercharged comparatively.

Not just for our sake as Busi and Raki are aging but also for his sake as FdJ is here and Valverde is going to give every opportunity to the seniors to prove their worth. Overall he had a very good season, with form dipping through injuries in the money part of the season which was a shame. But I think he has shown a lot that he will build on it, and if he shares a midfield with Frenkie then it will definately improve his game having a high pass accuracy (hello Vidal), high movement (hello Busquets) midfield partner.

Porque you are spot on. Very hopefull for even more from arthur and lots of reasons as you post should leave the fan base hopeful. I do think he will a long term fixture in the midfield, but i don't think he will be quite as important as FDJ. No shame in that, it is just FDJ is just that dynamic.

I disagree we would have won the treble if it weren't for Dembele missing, Alba fuckups and Valverde benching Semedo.
