He's turning into a good leader in the center of the pitch.

We need more guys like him that are willing to take responsibility and not hide when things get rough.

Imagine having a player of this caliber and benching him in the biggest match of the year, on Anfield, while needing midfielders who keep the ball well.

Serious candidate for the managerial failure of the decade. Could've very well been the difference between 5 Champions Leagues, and 6.

Wow he's only 23, I was worried his carreer is being wasted, but he will only be 24 when next manager comes, so should be fine I guess.

It's true he had some muscle problems which led him to have some loss of form but if you ask me, Valverde wanted to reward Vidal for his form and wasn't willing to budge on benching Busi/Rakitic so Arthur had to be sacrificed in his mind.

Despite the warnings vs Liverpool at home, Valverde still thought the Vidal-Busi-Rakitic was the way to go even though everyone and their nan could see the problems with that Midfield. And we ended up paying the price for it.

Did Arthur's muscle problems play a part? sure but the biggest problem was Valverde's persisting with the status quo and not willing to bench the likes of Rakitic and Busi even if they were in poor form. There was no reason for the likes of Arthur and Vidal to be pitted against each other while the other two get a free fucking pass.

the only positive thing I could say is at least Valverde is moving away from the likes of Rakitic and using him and Vidal as sub-options this season.

He’s such an intelligent and talented player. He is very Xavi-esque.

We just need that final piece alongside him and De Jong. I’m still unsure whether that player should be more attack or defensive minded.

Would be a bit more valid to ask if Barca should be more attack minded or not, because under EV that's something that significantly changed.

It's too late for Valverde Konan. I mean, 3-0 advantage first leg in the semifinal, opponent missing 2 out of 3 starters in attack in a match they have to win by 4 goals, and the opportunity to meet a team like Tottenham in the final to top it off. The stars were perfectly aligned for Valverde to win a treble last season, but his incompetence found a way in the end, to mess everything up. Some managers just aren't meant to achieve that kind of glory. They just have to fuck it up at some point.

2018-19 season was the season Valverde proved beyond all doubt that he is an incompetent at the level Barcelona as a team is looking to get.
