Arthur

Even back in 2003, when he was 23 years old like arthur is now. Arthur has a quite good performances by now in his career.
All im saying we arent getting new xavi anytime sooner, but we could have arthur in prime in next couple of years with frenkie.
Fuck me, you could see greatness only by watching the names of two.

March-June 2019: Arthur injured all the time and not playing at all. Whenever he plays, he is subbed after 45 minutes due to horrible attacking performances (Sociedad at home, Espanyol at home, Valencia CDR final).
Summer 2019: plays at Copa America
After that: not playing for Barca due to being tired after Copa
Returns to Barca: plays 5-6 matches, gets injured
Remains injured for the next 4-5 Months with several new random injuries and incidents
March 2020: football gets cancelled due to coronavirus

So, not only that Arthur is the most overrated player by Barcaforum in the last few years.
But he has also played like 15 matches for Barca in the last 18 Months.
And according to media, he is the least professional player in our team, alongside Dembele.

When you sum his limited footballing skills except being press resistant, constant injuries, questionable professionalism and problems with stamina and weight=it is really not such a surprise to read rumors that a club would be willing to trade him for someone else.

My estimation: I would put my money that he is gone in a summer of 2020 or in summer of 2021 at latest.
There is no way that he will be here in 2025 and similar.

Comparing Arthur to Xavi is comical. I dont know what the fuss is about , the guy has been piss poor most games hes played. Hes typical of the standard of player Barca has signed in the last few years , we are winning nothing with players like this.

We have all seen enough of him to know hes not good enough .

Thats like your opinion, I am still absolutely convinced. We will see.

Either way, getting rid of Arthur is utterly retarded - even for 60ME+. We have 3 midfielders left when Rakitic and Vidal leave (and they should).

I wouldn't mind letting Arthur go at all but swapping for a 30 year old Pjanic is not a good idea.

Bingo. For the right player or the right price (of which we could use to get the right player).

For me everyone in the club is transferable bar Messi (yes even FdJ based off of that season). But we must get clear superior players with medium/long term upside.

With the case of Arthur/FdJ how easy will that be and at what cost?

Imagine getting rid of Arthur because the club have identified stamina/off the field issues that they prefer to cut their losses with while he is still highly valued in Europe. I get that.

But then imagine getting a 30 year old to replace him and having a midfield of Vidal, Busquets, Rakitic and Pjanic. Even without Covid19 the stadiums should be empty with that sort of planification.

No way we should do this transfer. Arthur has yet to reach his peak and pjanic is on the decline. His performances for juve this year have been bad, it's why they're trying to get rid of him

I thought the problem with Arthur wasn't his performances, but rather that he doesn't play because of his injuries/lack of fitness?

This season he's on a goal or assist every 170 min. And this is with inconsistent playing time in a somewhat dysfunctional team.
Compared to last season he's improved immensely regarding this. Isn't that what you want from a player in his second season in Europe?
He shows that he's on the right track to become a better player and very much seems to be aware of his worse parts of his game if you look at his self critical comments during interviews.
He himself mentions he needs to improve his offensive contribution and fitness.

These are minutes per goal/assist for our midfielders so far this season:
157 - Vidal
170 - Arthur
350 - Rakitic
487 - Frenkie
626 - Busquets

Last season:
274 - Vidal
282 - Rakitic
538 - Alena
1239 - Arthur
2167 - Busquets

We have all seen enough of him to know he's not good enough.

Last year he was injured most of the time and this year he hasn't had a chance because he was injured again plus the pandemic delayed/cancelled the season. Before all that he was the second best player on the team, and we all saw that. And add to that he's continually working hard and staying in shape at home.

He has been bad in the attack his whole career.
Then he played good for 5 matches in October after 3 months of rest and picked a few goals and assists.
Then he got tired again and stopped producing.

Also, from his body language, it was clear that he was pissed of early in the season and he gave 200% in every match.
This is where his assists came from.

After 5 good matches, he became complacent and in the next 4 months he was injured and poor on a field, especially in the attack.

One Brasilian user commented in the past that Arthur is affected a lot by emotions.
When he is happy or motivated, he plays well.
When he is sad, he goes MIA for weeks.

Imo, we have seen something similar in these two years.
In his first season, he played well when he had to earn the place in the starting 11.
When he has earned it, he lost motivation and dissapeared.

Then EV dropped him out of a team in a spring of 2019.
In September, he was mad at EV and gave 200%.
As soon as he earned his place back,he lost motivation again.

I was never a fan of Arthur.
But seriously, there are so many red flags about him: poor in attack, poor stamina, weight problems, scandals and incidents, injured almost as often as Dembele, hot and cold motivation.

You guys are blinded by his press resistance skills and you don't see several huge red flags.

Lol if we know he can play well, why isn't it worth keeping him and help him keep his motivation and consistency up? He apparently has proven he's able to play here, this without a full season of consistent play time, imagine what he'll do then if he can turn up his motivation to 200% in no time and rack up a few assists.

Or maybe we could if they start in crucial games? (Read anfield)

This guy had a rock solid copa america performance as a 22 year old which he won and thats nothing, we're just gonna skip that like it never happened.
Other love to say that he is not good enough in barca shirt. Yep, hes not but so are all others excluding messi and mats.
We are a total mess.

I would not mind selling him for money, not swap deals.

50-60 mil and take him.

Sure, and you have to buy another 70-100m middlefielder who is not proven enough on biggest stage and take the gamble if he would shit his pants the moment he steps in locker room.

What are you all trying to prove? We just cant get anyone better than him in MF, so why selling him? He is the least of our problems...

I know, right? We'd be well on right path if selling arthur would solve problems, but it wont and it would only make them worser.
