He is overweight.
Stamina issues.
Brazilian lifestyle.
Injured a lot.
Not too motivated.

There is a high chance that his best days are behind him and he will just move to weaker and weaker clubs until he'll finally move to Roma, Russian league or back to Brasil.

You won't see a movie where Arthur will turn into a superstar with his mentality and his set of skills.

You're exposing yourself to a lot of jokes if he becomes a top class player.. I'd be more careful with these extreme statements.

From a financial perspective, it would appear that #Juventus are effectively paying #FCBarcelona ?10m to exchange Pjanic for the younger Arthur, but the accounting treatment means that both clubs will report around ?60m profit from this transaction. Let?s explain how [SwissRamble]

It's a money laundering deal folks

shady at best, the main purpose of this deal is to balance this years books, bar?a needed to sell for at least 70m before june 30 if i remeber correctly

While he looks to have potential, no big club came in for him with a solid cash offer. I don't know, at least 40 mil. Even though the whole world is aware of him being on the market.
Look at Malcom and where he is now.

Judging by some of the users here we should expect Arthur to be crap at Juventus and rub the bench. I guess we'll see. We'll see who gets the better out of this deal, us or Juventus.

The way Barca discards it's promising midfield talents is truly laughable. Come back in two years and people will be wanting his return for triple the price Barca initially sold him for.

In the end Gremio gets the last laugh I guess.

Why would Gremio get the last laugh?

Arthur is not as promising as first appeared. Showed overtime he was immature off pitch, unfit on it and fairly one dimensional.

He has himself to blame more than anyone else.

When there's a systemic issue in the barca squad it's hard to know how good a player is or isn't. He had moments where he looked world class followed by long periods of averageness/Gomes level performances or injury/fitness issues. The only annoying part of this transfer is getting another 30+ centre mid.

Also to anyone that loves Neymar and wants him back, remember he was the guy Arthur was hanging out with when he should have been focused on football.

Also to anyone that knows, does this balancing of the books basically give the board the money to throw another 100m+ at some flop?

Malcom chose money, like the likes of Hulk. He should have went to the Premier League.

For me it's less about selling Arthur and more about the club being dumb and desperate enough to get Pjanic in return just to "balance" the books they fuck up further and further with every new 100M flop. At the end of the day the squad doesn't get any better or younger by this move and even the financial gain (if any) isn't significant. They force themselves to move money around now that's it and that shouldn't be necessary at a healthy club but somehow we view this as normal behavior now thanks to Bartomeus board.

Average age of potential midfield starters is like 30 now

Great deal.. Now go for a stegen/buffon swap because stegen looks too young for this team

Your comparison fails because Ter Stegen has proven himself as one of the best GKs in the world.

I think people are stressing his 'youth' too much. If you're not good enough, that's it.
