I agree...though one very tragic highlight of this episode is that it shows the extent of the financial mess we're in. I was pining for some "fantasy" transfers of potential future superstars (I.e. Mbappé and etc) to take the mantle off of Messi for the future. I guess we are unable to buy anyone meaningful, in the long run, and guarantee future success
How does it highlight a financial mess? Can't see it.
Anyway, we shouldn't budge on this. If no verbal or legal agreement was made between Vidal and Barca, we should no let him go easy. He was bought for 30m on rather high wages and isn't some legend or player we owe favors to (as far as I know). And we certainly don't owe Inter favors, I'm still pissed at the Rafinha case.
Barca should make an evaluation of his worth for us, and that will be the exactly price he will be sold for - or higher. If he got a problem and drops form, he can be benched, if he spreads negative energy on purpose he will be put to out of trainings (if legal). If the club evaluates he is playing tricks with those court demands or in any other way, we should return the favor, and bench him. He has a contract he needs to respect, and we have our dignity and respect to consider. I'm so tired of having merchants with no fucking morale here, even in the Umtiti case we should have considered just selling him after those media United mind games - but that's a different case.
If the contract terms really does have that severe room of interpretation, the club has fucked up'd yet again...
