So far I'm definitely happy with the transfer window from a Barca point of view. The forwards were a bit of a weakness last season for the team and Neymar looks to be a certain and immediate improvement, just his striking ability alone seems to assure that. His age is a bonus and so he could be one for the future as well. But he is a matchwinner that will get the team points so that they can again push for 100 points and maybe more.
In contrast, Real Madrid have so far had a "nice guy" transfer window. Three good young Spanish players, nice from an idealist perspective, in a way sensible, it could pay dividends in a few years time. But they need impact now, they finishined fifteen points behind last season, and I don't see these transfers making much impact. Carvajal maybe a little, assuming he can adjust to La Liga successfully and get ahead of Arbeloa. But Isco I don't see as an improvement on Cristiano or Ozil. Neither is Illarramendi an immediate improvement on Alonso. Maybe in a couple of seasons.
