Asier Illarramendi

Just heard (Punto Pelota) that Real Madrid has offered the player a salary 4 times more than what he currently makes in Real Sociedad. He's currently making half a million. Madrid would pay 27 millions. Madrid are gonna be freaking BEAST! they are buying some of the best youth spanish talent. I remember Florentino promising the fans that he would buy many spanish players for the new project.
This guy would own that midfield. perfect replacement for xabi alonso!

I really, really hope Barca mgmt know something we don't know. Because it's really shitty watching Madrid secure great signings for the future & besides Neymar we're not even close to anything else. Just have to remind myself that it's still only the beginning of the transfer window.

Isco, Morata, Jese, Carvajal, Jose Rodriguez, Varane, Casemiro, and possibly Illaramendi all likely to be future regulars for Madrid yet we only have Neymar, Montoya, Deulofeu, and possibly Thiago if he doesn't leave. Say what you want about La Masia and our youth development, Real Madrid have been getting pretty competitive in recent years.

Hopefully we go after Marquinhos.

Isco and Illaramendi are just recent buys. Those 2 definitely have nothing to do with their youth system.

Deulofeu is better than both Morata and Jese.

It's not like good talent hasn't came out of there before, they just haven't been given their shot like Mata, Negredo, Soldado, etc.

I'm not saying that they get credit for Isco or Illaramendi, it's just that they are focusing more on youth than we currently are under Tito and with Ancelotti they will develop a lot of those players unlike in the years before.

It does seem like Ancelotti is going to go a much different route than Mourinho did for sure. He's probably going to try to build an infrastructure of young Spanish players.

If Real Madrid is going to poach all this young talent, I really hope Barcelona considers Oliver Torres. That kid is meant to play Barcelona Football.

madrid are now concentrating on buying some of the best youngsters in Europe. These players will grow together and one day they are hoping to have the best team in Europe. We have overhyped La masia too much sometimes. So many players that we have but most of them are not good enough to make it. Barca should also buy young players when they need them. Barca is so powerful that they should have people watching the tournaments for young players and be able to snatch them. Players like isco, Marquinos were players that shined at a very young age. I think roma payed 5 millions for marquinhos. We need to get the thought of our heads that just cause a player is from la masia, there aren't better players out there. Hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes.

At what cost though? As amazing as Oliver would be for Barca, it would be a detriment to the league and all the competition if we were to stoop to Madrid's level and start poaching all the young talent. A few smart buys is one thing but taking the star talents of smaller clubs is unfair in my opinion.

Besides if we honestly took more consideration into our own youth, we already have all the young players we need. It's just how little/badly we used them that reduced us to this level. I mean guys like Deulofeu, Montoya, Thiago, Samper, Rafinha, Bagnack, Grimaldo, Sandro, Dongou, Adama, and so on all come from our very own academy and have unbelievable potential for the future. It's just that with current management stubbornness (Tito, Eusebio) many of them haven't been correctly considered and developed. If we actually focus on youth, most outside transfers are truly unnecessary. It goes both ways too, if we continue not to focus on youth then even a transfer like Oliver wouldn't do much.

That's what Real Madrid is attempting to do right now, they are going to try to poach all the competition anyways.

Oliver is a special case to me. If we lose Thiago, I could only really envision him or Gundogan filling that void. The kid is a complete midfielder.

Calma. Madrid panick buying young overrated Spaniards to appease the fans won't turn them into the best squad in Europe.

On a second thought, I think that is one of the reasons why Pep opted out... Rosell was always a transfer market guy, scooping up for the most marketable players from outside. He's like Florentino Perez a bit. And the dispute with Cruyff!!

No. Pep left because the day he became first team coach he declared that he wouldn't stay for longer than 3 or 4 years.

That was because he never wanted his relationship with Barca to go sour... Had he failed as a manager here, or got fired, he never would have had a second chance to serve the club. So that was the reason he wanted to stay here only for a short period, give a try. But he turned out to be a great manager for us, a phenomenal success. So he would have stayed here longer if it weren't for Rosell

I say they are hoping to have the best team in europe one day. Nobody can be for certain that they will, but they do seem to have a good plan for now. do you really think Verane, Isco ( best player in under 21), illaramendi ( if they end up buying him) are overrated?
