Asier Illarramendi

Despite overpaying for him, Illarramendi is a fantastic addition to Real and insult them all you want, they are having a far more productive and smart transfer window than we are.

That being said, he's been slightly overrated from the u21 tournament. He's a great player but honestly not one of the best Spanish CM/DM prospects and his age makes it likely that he won't be a regular international.

lol, i like how the transfer fee you mention for illaramendi is always getting reduced.

Read too many transcripts of Rosell's Villa negotiations. I know, rounding up or down is a bad habit.

And Perez would pay as much as he could afford to. Privilege of being an excellent financial brand.

No they havent had a better transfer window at all.

The signing of Neymar for far less than anyone else was willing to pay was huge and better signing than both Isco and Illaramendi.

Everyone knows how good Illaramendi is but they have over payed for him because he is Spanish.

Isco+Illa+Carvajal. They've effectively boosted most of their squad up and filled their weakest hole in RB. Neymar's good but he's only one player and we have many more holes in our squad than just attack. Real not only filled their biggest gaps but also strengthened the parts of their roster that were at risk of being a little light.

Neymar is amongst the most sought after players of the last few years. Virtually every single club wanted him and many were willing to pay him much more money.

Barcelonas dependency on Messi was just as big a problem as the defence and they have gone to rectify it.

I would take Neymar as putting the window as better for Barca and there will be more to come.

Keep daydreaming over Neymar 24/7 all you want but he's still ONE player. You keep going on and on about him but Neymar doesn't fix our issues in midfield, defense, or soon to be goalkeeper. Real as a squad have nowhere to go but up in the next few years with their blend of youth and talented experience. We on the other hand have decaying starters in Puyol, Alves, and Xavi. I doubt that the management will be stupid enough not to change anything for yet another transfer window but as of right now Neymar simply doesn't compare in overall squad improvement to the signings Madrid have made.

But it was only Barcelona and Real that made offer for him

What positions do you think need reinforced?

I agree CB and it is being worked on. What else do you want?

we have bought the superstar of the greatest NT in history and the most marketable player in the world for 57m, one year before Brazil hosts the world cup where neymar will be the face of the tournament. if argentina and brazil meets, neymar vs messi, the earth will stop spinning. and we own them both. money is rolling into the barca account from that signing. not to speak of the fact that such a player is exactly what we needed to reduce our messi dependence.

the u21 euro had the quality of regular segunda games. by illarramendi's age, busi was busy dominating the world cup and CL finals.

Ok no other teams wanted him.

Not even Pep who admitted he went after him but Barcelona had won him over by then.

Teams clearly did not bother to bid when told he was not interested.
