The moment when you realize Mario Gotze was bought for the same amount:pep:

he was actually almost 2m cheaper! what i think has happened is that the president of madrid is trying all he can to repair the damage mourinho did to the spain-madrid connection, which infuriated many madrid fans.

Turns out we're not the only club with a crappy board. Really, €38?

Glad they wasted that much money..

In case you missed it, the figure is 32,190,000 including tax.

And in any case it's a deal for the future and it addresses a problem that would otherwise leave us with a void next summer. Better to secure it now with little competition than panic over it next season. Waste of money? Don't be stupid. The dude is one of the best prospects out there for his position in Europe and will get a chance to work under a fellow Basque as well as a manager who made Pirlo and one of the best midfielders and mentors in the history in Zidane. Overpriced? Sure, but if it took 30mln and RM paid it, it means they could afford it and they are OK with it, because it secures the position for the years to come. Sociedad weren't willing to let him go at all and we were lucky his clause was as low as it was.

And it's a better deal than what Barca are going to make on Thiago or what they spent on Nikemar. So there.

You can move the thread too ;)

Marca is claiming that he will cost nearly 39M euros.

I watched him all year w/ Real Sociedad, he's a good player who was being slept-on by many until the U21 Euros. I think he played better than Thiago during the tournament.

Ouch! Let's hope it hurts, eh? ;)

And why is it 32.190.000 according to you and I have read 38.949.000? Not to be a bitch trying to make it seem you pay a lot more, genuinely curious. Is it on the RM website?

No, Thiago was the best player of the tournament.

32m is not the figure being quoted it is nearer 38m.

Better deal than Neymar? No, just no.

Better deal than Neymar... sure...

Illara is a great prospect and I think he'll be worth over 30m in a couple of years, but right now it's a huge gamble. There are bigger talents out there in the same position, but the transfer seems logic considering Real can't buy someone from Barça and Illara's Spanish. Overall a good transfer but they still paid too much.
