Atletico are the Stoke City of La Liga. When they fall short in talent, the resort to being thugs. It's pathetic.

Ghostmaster and I share 2 of 3 most-hated clubs: 1. Chelsea; 2. Atletico; 3. Stoke.

Simeone's son Giovanni is leading the goal-scoring chart in the on-going U-20 SA championships. He claims to 've built his game watching Falcao whilst at River plate, and after. If he continues his progress, I expect him to end up in Europe. Perhaps, Simeone takes him to his next destination, Inter.

He said Simeone tells him to watch and follow Falcao and Gabriel Batistuta.

Love it how within a span of a few games they go from "passion", "intense", "Cinderella story", "underdogs" to "cunts" who are easy to hate.

This kind of game is why I don't understand how Atletico can be so hated. Yeah they can play dirty but that's a byproduct of wanting it so bad. None of them are actually bad characters off of the pitch. See today: The Calderon roaring thunderously behind them, the capacity for pretty great football when they choose to approach it that way, the players leaving literally everything they can on the pitch the way Barca have not done for years until just recently, and a manager who is nothing short of a champion and an inspiration. No one likes their dark side but they are Cholo's team. They are the team that toppled the big two in la liga and made it to a CL final through sheer sporting desire. No Atletico player plays for money or glamour. They play for the club, for their coach, and for their teammates. That is what warrants respecting them. They're something completely unique in this modern world of corporate sports where the game is a franchise for both fans and teams.

Indeed. A rare, rare, example in top football.
And if you'll see beyond 4-0 you find how dominating they really were. I haven't seen any team do that to Real in recent years. Not even Barca.

Kind of agree as well as disagree. No doubt, it's phenomenal what they are doing with a team worth pennies compared to the bigger clubs in the world. Sheer teamwork and effort besting teams well above them in terms of talent. What I don't agree with is the 'how can you hate atletico' part. Not bad characters? Godin telling his men to attack Messi's leg? Raul Garcia with all his crap? The whole Neymar episode? (where he was vilified for playing attractive football :S )

I absolutely respect what they are doing, but I hate facing them, apart from footballing reasons too.

They've made Real their bitchboys this season.

4 wins 2 draws 0 defeats.

Didn't even need to resort to cunt moves today.

The 4-0 is a drubbing too should of been a manita at least. Hope they meet in CL after they are done with their German opponents!
