Atlético Madrid

So because we wanted them to beat Real Madrid (of all teams) means that I'm supposed to admire them on a frequent basis? You do realize the ONLY reason most people on here cheer on Atletico against Real Madrid is for the benefit of Barca, right?

Yes I am aware, and it's a pathetic way of watching the game. You're really going to cheer for a team you dislike just because they're facing RM? I'd rather stay neutral, if I was you.

Simeone and his team of pussies put on the most cowardly performance I have ever seen in a CL tie. They didn't even try to play football and thought they could defend for 180 minutes.

They can take the whole lot of nothing that they will win this season and shove it up their asses. Useless cunts.

LMAO still bitter at getting spanked in Camp Nou during last year's season's finale

I bet you'd take pussies like Koke, Griezz, Miranda, Godin and Gimenez any day of the week

LMAO look at everyone here hating on Atletico, when I'm sure you were all creaming your pants last year when they were about to beat RM in the UCL Finals  + earlier this year during the 4-0 win at the BernaCholo :lucho:

Although I do wonder if this year's anemic offense will change Cholo's philosophy a bit. Maybe give Koke, and Oliver once he comes back, more freedom to attack.
Respect for Atletico and Simeone for how much they have achieved with limited resources, but thats as far as it goes. Atletico is probably the only team i really hate, at least when we face them. They are a bunch of thugs setting up shops in their own box, i usually like fairplay, but i find myself not caring one bit when we face them. So what if Carvajal hit Mandzu, or Ramos elbowing people? I dont mind. Ramos overreacting on Ardans challenge was a thing of beaty, took real pleasure in that moment, and the timewasting at the end. There are limits of course, but im in a sadistic mood whenever we face them.

Got to say though, Cholo might set up his team in a mourinho-fashion, but he is very different from Mourinho of the pitch. He dont spew bullshit after a loss, creds for that.

Must be very frustrating to be a local colchonero. For 10+ years they were an absolute laughing stock against RM to the point where even many local madridistas felt sorry for them. From the 2012-2013 season (where they won the CdR at the Bernabéu against RM) and onwards this unfortunate tradition of bending over to RM automatically somewhat changed.

Despite this then Atlético lost the CL-final in the most cruel of ways and they were eliminated from the CdR by RM as well who eventually ended up winning that trophy too last season.

Now after not suffering a single defeat against RM for 7 games in a row this very season, winning the Spanish Super Cup, kicking RM out of the CdR (just to be kicked out by us in the following round) and weakening RM's league hopes severely by defeating them twice in the process Atlético proceeded to lose the CL quarterfinal (the CL being their only hope of silverware this season, excluding the Spanish Super Cup) in the dying minutes.

To Atlético's credit then they are up against two football giants in their domestic league that they cannot compete financially with at all. So the fact that Simeone has helped them win 5 trophies (one of them being the league title last season) in the span of 3.5 years is an remarkable feat.

Yes, Atlético were abysmal in the tie overall but we should not forget what they are up against. I for once take my hat off in respect.

He genuinely comes across as a classy guy. No wonder his players go to war for him.

You mean I'm pathetic for hoping that Real Madrid lose points so Barca can win the league? LOL

Where did I say I dislike them? I don't give a fuck about pathetico madrid. Their only importance to me these days is to beat Madrid, other than that they are irrelevant because they are not competition for Barca. They can get relegated or fold as a club and I wouldn't give a shit either. So yeah, I'm neutral towards them.

And who cares about those players? I didn't question their talent, I said collectively they were a bunch of pussies who hurdled into the corner and let Real Madrid buttfuck them for 180 minutes straight. Which they were.

How can you support this anti football bunch. I'm so glad they're out

I don't think they are anti football ,quite the opposite tbh
Yes their football aren't the most beautiful .but they are a team with a limited talent and resource and they are over achieving beyond their abilities .they have added another competition in Liga and this was huge to the competition ,they forced the opponents to up their game because the competition is now tougher .gr8 team
They aren't like Chelsea or teams Mourinho coached who had way more talent and resources ,smaller teams will always had the most chance to win with the way A.Madrid play ,that is harsh trueth IMO

Peope are underestimating Atleticos players quite a bit, are they as good as Barca/Reals? No, but a team with Oblak, Godin, Miranda, Turan, Koke etc. certainly aint mediocre by any stretch. They are capable of good attacking football, but they went for penalties against us. We had many injuries, so i think Simeone made a mistake.

Ironically you named 1 GK,2 defenders and 2 midfield players when giving an example of their good players and then said they are capable of playing attacking football
Yes they are good team overall ,but they are way behind the pack when it comes to comparison to the elite .and their best players are their defenders ,always has been .Griezmann is good addition and very good player.but the team is lacking in many aspects offensively ,that is one of the areas they will need to address in summer .hopefully Oliver Torres will help

I said "etc.", Griezmann is obviously a very good player, so is mandzukic as well. So they absolutely have dangerous attackers and they have shown previously that they are capable of playing good football. They just didnt feel like attacking much, neither home or away in this tie.
