Good news for them tbh, he is one of Liga's best CB tbh. He is in his prime too and can easily give them good 5 years
Hopefully Cholo will stop this 3 atb nonsense and especially playing Witsel at CB, lol.

Something like

Oblak
Molina - Gimenez - RLN - Reinildo

4 atb with Molina starting isn't a Cholo thing tbh, either have a defensive fullbacks in 442 or 3 atb with offensive FB, Cholo was and is always a more defensive coach and Molina won't fit that.

Agree on the need of moving on from Witsel, they need at least another CB with RLN.

Edit: This could complicate things for us with Merino deal tbh, especially if EPL club activate Zubimendi release clause

Dovbyk very close to Atleti for 40m, clubs are just negotiating on payment structure.

Interested how Girona will spend this money. They've signed Abel Ruiz but not sure he'll be a starter.

There doing a big project around their stadium, similar to barca space, because right now they just have a stadium and not much else, will be good for them in the future.

I think they are actually building a good team with RLN and Dovbyk. Still trying to sign another CB and also a midfielder.

Oblak

Le Normand - Gimenez - new CB

Molina - Koke - De Paul - new CM - Lino

Griezmann - Dovbyk

Good XI, still need better depth as have likes of Azpi, Witsel and Reinildo as backups in defense. And hopefully youngsters like Vermeeren, Barios and Omorodion (if he won't be sold) will be given a chance.

They should sign Facundo Medina and Ezequiel Fernandez

RLN official, Dovbyk deal is off.

Also reports Griezmann is negotiating a move to LAFC.

Wonder if they'll go seriously after Alvarez now.

Sounds like Gallagher will sign soon. He will confirm some English stereotypes in Spain. He can run all day, but he's really quite poor on the half turn.

Late to the party, but since when and how did Roma achieve so much pull?

American owners investing in the team. Will also move to a new stadium in 2026 so probably want to build a very competitive team by then.

And tbf I think DDR has his pull as well. Mou had it too before him but we know what type of players he prefers and usually thinks more short term. It's clear De Rossi is building long term with support from owners.

The thing with Dovbyk shows how important patience is especially with attackers. His first good season was at 24 years old in Ukraine and only moved to a top5 league at 26 years old. He flopped in Denmark at 23.

Then he moves to Spain at 26 and wins LaLiga golden boot in his first season here which is an award that far more reputable players have never won.

Really shows you how development is not linear and personal context is important when considering players. Sometimes players have the talent but they're just waiting for it to click or to resolve certain flaws they have.

I'm sure if we signed Dovbyk the fans would complain massively about signing a player from Ukraine, flopped in Denmark etc. Of course, not blaming the club for him specifically, but just an example that you could apply to other players like Roque when being overly critical and not being patient with players development curves and progression.
