i really think that laporta will win
It's what 2-3 weeks until elections and candidates don't even have a program. So amateurish. There's more competition, and serious to that, for maintainence jobs.
in hindsight. Barto took this decision under pressure, it wasn't a calculated move.
Why everybody so happy about new elections? This is by far the best thing that Barto could do to keep his seat.
If the elections are held by the end of the season, every challenger would only have like 2 months for the (behind-the-scenes) negotiations for their crew. Then there are only like 2 months left to build a electoral campaign from scratch. It takes a lot longer than that to really convince the majority of local members, especially without the Godo Group support
Of course he took it under pressure. And of course no one could've seen the treble incoming.
But by calling the early elections he essentially cut the preparation time for other contenders in half. Gathering the right people, the finances and creating a good election program takes time.
This is not meant as an excuse for the poor showing of Laporta and (to a lesser extent) Benedito so far. But Barto had much more to lose if he decided to drag the saga out into 2016.
