Suarez has been awful since last season. Still so frustrating. He better start playing well. It's not just unfinished chances, he is killing the attacks with dumb passes/bad touches. Just so clumsy.

Better teams on the break could be scary playing like this but rather take the risk and try to dominate ball.

Absolutely. Under Pep we also got toast on the counter at important times. It's how we managed to lose vs Inter and Chelsea in CL. But I'd rather let us choose how to go down than to be reactive and play the opponent's game.

The good thing about this type of football is that we can control the game until we face a team which is better in those tight spaces than us. But the good part is no team plays in tight spaces better than us. This is why we are able to dominate Madrid most of the time.

We have one big thing we need to take care of in terms of tactics. We need to move well enough to difuse high press attempts from the other teams. We will see teams that will try to do the last thing which proved succesfull, and that is press hard and block us before we start the actual buildup. If Valverde takes care of that and punishes 2-3 good teams which try that, we will get back to controlling almost all games.

How incisive we will be in positional I don't know. That is down to whatever transfers we can make next and/or how great of a manager Valverde is. And also how motivated our dribblers are. If Messi is the fully motivated self, teams should fear us.

Getting the control back is the first step. Posing real danger and turning possession into chances is the hardest part. For that we need great attackers.

It's weird about Suarez. He looks fit physically. He's just been so off for a while now. It's bizarre.

Best player ever feeding you key passes surely helps.

Deulofeu has fed Messi at least three great key passes himself, with one being an assist. Although anyone who really followed him knew he had that in him, with the way he was often able to link up with Lukaku even when being seen as a general failure.

Don't waste money on Dembegoat
Deulofeu can be groomed for that LW spot

We all thought he was gonna end up at RW but apparently his best position opened up for him

Use the money to buy the next asensio, dembele, verrati for CHEAP

I think it's more about Messi knowing what to do with Deulofeu than Deulofeu knowing to do with Messi.

Only people who didn't watch him play last season thought he could be a RW, for some of us in here it was always clear he was going to be our LW sub.

I love Deu and am over the moon seeing him drop his selfishness in favor of linking up with the team, but I've gotta say, you're really jumping the gun here.

I'm usually very pessimistic, but things look much improved. Yes it is just a friendly against a shit team, but there are a lot of goods signs.

What I've noticed:

-Midfield closer together
-Much better off ball movement
-Wingers wide on the break, tuck in when trying penetrate the opposition's box
-Quick, fluid passing
-Drawing defenders with triangle passing then playing ball over the top into space

Very good signs, but it is still early, let's see if we can build on this.
