Barca Transfers and Rumors

i agree about arda and gomes, but this is another question...
instead i don't understand all your criticism for the team and mostly for the midfield...

we have a long summer where the fcb management has the time to reinforce the team, mostly in the middle...

about investiments...
the greatness of barca has always been la masia...
we have only to wish there will be new young players to add in our team, ready to play...

but if i have to make a valuation on these last ten years, i think we cannot complain of the transfer market and investiments, mostly if we remember what we won...

i'm curious what the united and city fans think about their teams and management...and about a comparison with fcb...

I would love to stick with La Masia but the problem at this point in time is that there are no potential world class players coming up. There is no point sitting around waiting for the next golden generation to come around, the chances are that it won't happen anytime soon if it all. We need to sign world class players and quickly if we want to hold our status as one of the best clubs in the world.

(1) We have a long summer, but guess what? We just lost the best available player for our midfield to City. You know why Pep Guardiola signed him so quickly? Because he is a player that exactly fits the Barca model, has had a world class season, is 22 years old and fits our style of play.

(2) There are no La Masia players in the current pipeline who can drastically improve our midfield next season. Nowhere close.

(3) Okay, let me break it down for you. The last 'top class' midfield signing that Barca had on paper was Cesc Fabregas in 2011, SIX YEARS AGO. Even then he had just finished a poor season at Arsenal. He eventually failed at Barca and left.

Now look at Real Madrid:

-Modric in 2012
-Isco in 2013
-Toni Kroos in 2014
-James in 2014
-Kovacic in 2015

Real Madrid have invested in a world class midfield player/talent EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS and look where they are now. That's what being smart in the transfer market gets you.

So you tell me how Manchester fans must feel with their clubs investing in some of the best talent there is out there. It's not so hard to believe that they must feel they have something to look forward to is it?

Sead Kolasinac was one of the best players in Bundesliga this season. 23 years old. Available on free transfer.

He is likely to sign with Arsenal. These are low risk transfers which has plenty of upside potential. And they are strategic signings that at least can give squad depth for cheap while focusing our transfer funds on more urgent needs. But we dont seem to be looking at those type of deals. We basically never do. Value in the market doesnt seem to cross our mind at all. How often do we sign players that actually increase in value after they join us? We usually spend massive amounts of money for very questionable quality. And then loan them out after a year or two until their contract expires.

Truly a make or break season transfer wise in my opinion. Gap could widen between us and RM if we make the wrong transfers.

RM are always looking long term. They basically never sign players older than 25 years old. I can only think of Modric as the sole exception, except goalies of course. They pretty much always buy players they can play for a decade at the highest level.

in my opinion you see everything in extreme way...
i could reply all your points, but it's clear we will have always a different opinion...

just one, kovacic only great backup for top teams...
and james has been paid a lot of money with no good results...

Parejo??? How the hell are we even linked with that guy? Just buy Seri if we can't get anyone better...

Parejo is slow, dumb, gives away ball too often in stupid areas and solves nothing Barcelona lacks.

There is not one current midfielder would even swap for him.

Probably our evil scheme this season. Just like the Ben Arfa last season.

We show interest in him, PSG hesitate and sign Parejo and we end up with Seri.

Transfer market masterclass. :bartomeu:
