The board is probably scrambling for cash atm but all these rumors are just ludicrous, no way Barca is in negotiations for like 15 players right now. It's always funny to see what the journalists fabricate when there aren't any games going on.

I more and more lean towards the transfer market being absolutely boring this year. I expect us to make a maximum of 2 transfers, spending like 60M in total so no Lautaro or Neymar.

We have a lot of players we can sell, yes, but no team will want to spend too much this year with the revenues having gone down so much.
Ale?a and Coutinho will be back from loan, Rakitic and Vidal sold for close to nothing. Rest of the squad will stay more or less the same.

A lot of players have contracts running out in 2022 like Alaba, Upamecano, Onana. It would be nice to tie up some free deals in january.

Yeah, don't believe any rumours right now.

I would be ok with this. Buy Upamecano (I really want Camavinga too but won't happen) and bring back loanees. Just don't spend money we don't have on more forwards we don't need.

We probably won't win anything with this team but we won't win much more with spending more crazy money on the players who will be misused again. And we would also improve our finances.

But I don't think anything like this will actually happen. Bartomeu knows he's gone next year so he'll want to make his last big name signing(s) at any cost. Even if we'll need to sell half of the team and further weaken defense and midfield he'll get his 100m+ forward.

Why not? I don't see anything wrong in that. We have like 6-7 players for sale/loan and their names are on the market. Now is the time for negotiations. We need to generate some cash in order to buy new players, but no Neymar or Martinez.

its all good putting them on the transfer market but as we will see this summer, nobody wants them. no other top clubs, including PSG and City even, would pay the likes of Dembele, Coutinho, Umtiti etc anywhere near the wages we pay them at Barca and why would they leave? great City, big club, $$$. Coutinho and Griezmann wouldn't even consider Newcastle either despite their takeover. Rakitic also won't leave.

i won't be surprised if we sign a grand total of ZERO players and end up going into next season with the same washed up players

But the debate is other than De Ligt, how does Pjanic and Bentancur add anything to this team than what we already have? At least with De Ligt he would fill a position we needed to be filled. But Pjanic and Bentancur offer really nothing as they aren't better than what we may have.

Pjanic is a glorified poor man's Busi now how suffers the same issues as Rakitic and Busi do with the lack of speed and mobility and he's 30 years old and would be on high wages. Bentancur is not terrible but he's about as bone standard in so many areas of his game it makes you question why are we interested in him.
