I think people should start preparing for us not spending a single dime on players. I don't think many clubs will.

I'm starting to think all teams will look more or less the same except for the expiring loan deals. It's actually for the better for us not to spend anything than to half arse the rebuild with players like Pjanic and De Sciglio who'll be considered deadweight in 6 months.

I predict loan deals could become very important next season though, there might be a lot of movement without any cash involved.
Also, when the hell will the transfer market be open? Champions League is planned to be completed in August. Players won't move before that.

Barca spending 100M net, or even 50M, seems very very far away at this point.

Inb4 no one spends big except us with another 100m+ special courtesy of Barto.

Soyuncu for Coutinho + 20m is way way to high. If anything Leicester should pay us 20m extra in that swap.

Under different circumstances I would agree but Coutinho is not worth more than 40-50m on this market coming off two poor-to-average seasons and being on high wages which will prevent most clubs affording him. Not that he would have any interest joining a non-CL club anyway imo. People are hoping Newcastle will offer big money and they'll probably be interested but I doubt he'd go to a club who will struggle to get into a top 4 for a few more seasons if not for a whole duration of Coutinho's contract. So this limits our options to maybe 2-3 teams. Chelsea is probably the only other EPL club besides Leicester who could be interesting for him and they've already bought Ziyech for 45m so why would they pay much more for Cou? Don't see him going to United either if they'll finish 4th. The only other option in top 5 leagues is probably PSG and I believe the only way he's going there is in a swap deal for Neymar which I want to avoid at any cost.

We'll probably need to loan Cou again to get rid off his wages and maybe get some loan fee. So IF we could get rid off him permanently while also getting a good young CB in return I'd be all for. I think Barca would do that swap in a heartbeat but I don't think Leicester would accept my proposal. On the other hand I'm 100% they would never give us Soyuncu and money for Cou. We are the ones who desperately want Cou out and also need a defender. They didn't need him to finish top 4 this year (if they won't fall apart after EPL season continues) and they would be totally ok not getting him and keeping Soyuncu.

I think you are underestimating Coutinho and overestimate Leicester. A player like Coutinho would be a dream for them.
Its not because someone isn?t good enough for us that he can?t be a top player somewhere else.

He wasn't good enough for either us or Bayern. Failing in Germany hurts his value a lot.

Don't worry about CB - Mundo says we are going to swap Umtiti for Skriniar with Inter, so no worries
About Coutinho - the most value would probably be in a Neymar-swap + money from us, but I'm not hoping for that either.
But Chelsea-possibility is real, they have had great results with Pedro, Fabregas, Kovacic etc., so they see Real/Barca-rejects as value for money.

I'm pretty sure at this point that Coutinho is going to be wagedumped on a loan. In a better market, all we could muster was a loan last season. Imagine this year where teams have less money and have already seen us play our card. The deeper we go into the market, the more desperate we will be.

So yeah, Leicester selling their next Maguire for Coutinho seems far fetched. I believe also that they swing towards workrate players too. Much like Lampard's Chelsea.

Only guy who will get an OK offer is Dembele. Although anything over 50m will surprise me.

Some club will think they can bring the best level out of him and put his injury problems behind him. He could be the next Salah/De Bruyne revival around 26 with the right moves. I am hoping that move is Setien but not holding high hopes.

We should lower coutinho's price. With coronavirus causing a weird deflation of player values a price of €50m might be tempting for many clubs, that €50m would be a similar amount to €70m (total guess) in a normal circumstances market. We won't fetch anything close to 70m the year after unless he becomes his old liverpool self again.

I'm not saying he couldn't be a good player for a team like Leicester. If anything I think Cou can actually get his career back on track in the EPL and if we'll loan him again (which I expect to happen) he should go there. But I just don't see him as a "must have" player for Leicester who have proven they can (probably) finish top 4 without him.

This rumour is even more stupid than that Pjanić, De Sciglio and money for Semedo thing a few days ago.

His high wages and (very likely) reluctance to play for a non-CL team are much bigger problem than transfer fee. There is just no real market for Cou out there so if we can't make a good swap deal (like the one for Soyuncu I've suggested) then loaning him to an EPL club where he can hopefully find his form and improve his value and sell him next year is probably better than underselling him in this market.

Transfermarkt shows that Soyuncu's market value is $ 35 m. but there are news coming from Leicester that they will offer him new contract with about 100 m. buy-out clause. I don't think they will take Coutinho for more than 80 m. so yes, we have to pay extra 20 m. to get him.

According to Romeo Agresti, it seems like Juve wants 55 Million euros for Pjanic now.

Have to assume they probably got pissed off that Arthur didn't want to come so they are asking for cash now.

I think the funniest part is one Catalan media station (Forgot who) talked about how a Pjanic and Arthur swap made little sense from a financial standpoint.

The club wants to lower the wage bill but apparently Arthur is on low wages while Pjanic himself is on higher wages. So trading Arthur for Pjanic would make the wage bill even worse as he's on much higher wages than Arthur is.

So basically they do us a favor by asking for a price Barto and his dumbass goons can't pay? Thanks Juve, very cool! :)
