On balance looks promising

Big wages have been moved to facilitate FFP space allowing club to target low cost options to fill specialist needs we wouldn't otherwise remotely be able to purchase on the open market

Cancelo will provide a legitimate RB we have lacked and that will make that right side a highway of scoring chances with either Raphinha or Lamal, nevermind what it will open up for Lewy

Felix out wide left will already be an upgrade on current Ansu. It'll be more interesting when Roque arrives but time to see if Xavi will be able to get the team playing the way he has promised fans - no more excuses since he has few excuses left. Sink or swim season for Xavi

I would've preferred Abde be given a chance but seems clear Xavi is going to continue with 4 midfielders which likely motivated him to want to get minutes elsewhere

Worth noting that Heriberto Jurado, Petterson Novaes, Oscar Zambrano, Fabricio Diaz whom all linked to move here (Barca B) hasn't changed teams.

Probably won't happen but hopefully can get one of Diaz/Zambrano in January, wouldn't mind that Petterson guy either although less interested if only getting him on a 6 month loan as wouldn't have much time to adapt and prove himself. Not really a fan of Jurado based on his highlights.

Speaking about Jurados, Marc Jurado (former La Masia RB) who we were linked to earlier in the summer has moved to Espanyol on permanent deal.

I think Zambrano was an agent using our name as @Porque suggested.

Petterson & Jurado deals seems like Barca trying to get a beneficial deal that didn't make sense for their clubs.

Diaz OTOH my guess is that Liverpool M has overplayed their hand. No one in Europe was willing to pay that 8M for 80% of him, pricing him out.
The player himself doesn't want to go to Brazil or Argentina so he stays after 5 months of negotiations with European clubs. It will be interesting how it plays out, because considering how weak their league he won't improve his value staying there.
Maybe we can get him in January for B team or sign and loan.

Not seen a thread of his but thoughts on Victor Boniface? Up for Pro League player of the season, always seems to score in the big domestic games and has carried a tiny club to some noteworthy performances in Europe.

Stats are nothing to write home about, but just have the feeling that he could explode when he moves to a bigger club next season, Kvara style. Big Italian clubs, including Napoli interested.

Not the sort of signing we make, but the sort of signing we should be making in our situation. 20m would be the fee. A high risk, high reward play. Unfortunately we seem to be playing it safe targeting guaranteed mediocrity.

Remember someone mentioning him. Great call.

Incredible start @ Leverkusen.

Carried Saint Gilloise, now carrying Leverkusen. The new Victor Osimhen. And he only cost a little less than 20m.

On the odd occasion there is a special talent in the 3rd tier European Leagues ( Haaland in Austria, Boniface in Belgium ) . I feel there is a certain arrogance at Barca to buy from these leagues for the first team.
If we ain't going to do it with our current financial situation, I doubt we ever will.

To be fair we took a gamble with Victor Roque, while not just us but the rest of first tier Europe (Bayern, Madrid/Barca, EPL) also didn't move for Boniface.

Would have expected a Premier League team to be in for him this summer, but Leverkusen under Xabi looks an inspired move. Well done on him and his agent taking this route.

Apparently Arsenal made an approach for Zubimendi on the last day of market, and will try to sign him in January.

Expect Xavi to start hinting we need more depth in defensive midfield over the next few months, if true.

They just bought Declan Rice, I don't think they need Zubimendi.
