The 17-year-old Malian playmaker, one of the standouts in the last U-17 World Cup, will spend a period of training before knowing whether he will reinforce the Juvenil team or Barça Atlètic

He's probably 28. :troll:

I think he can train here but won't be eligible to play official games before December. Well, at least hopefully we didn't feck something up and won't get another transfer ban or something.

There's nothing to dislike about this deal and agreement. I know nothing about this academy, but from the u17 WC Mali had alot of talent and Diarra was their best player.

The Barcelona link can give this academy a competitive advantage on player subscriptions, while we get first option on that.

A young CDM from H. Berlin. Unlikely consider the competition

Barcelona will not give up on trying to sign Girona captain Aleix Garcia, but he will at least see out their historic season in the North of Catalonia.

However Barcelona do not have the money to sign him. In spite of Xavi Hernandez’s exit though, the intentions have not changed with Garcia, and MD report that they will go after him again in the summer. Their proposal is likely to be a player plus cash offer, with the likes of Oriol Romeu (signed from Girona), Eric Garcia and/or Pablo Torre (both on loan at Girona) potential bargaining chips for Barcelona.

Atleast it's a DMC. I like the strategy of looking towards Central Europe Scandinavia and Africa rather than purey the inflated Brazilian market.

It's competitive but prices are lower, and served EPL clubs very well traditionally.

Legit or media distraction?

If legit it means one of two things.

1) making same mistake of signing players that may not fit future manager
2) future manager is already decided and but agreed.

If it's 2) then it limits the names we have targeted Immensely. Michel, Motta, Marquez or similar.

No idea, probably just rehashing the old rumours but our interest in the player is genuine I think. Clearly nothing will happen before summer and we should get a new coach before any real transfer business will happen.

Deco will have a bigger role in squad building but doubt any big signings will be made without the coach approval. Can't really afford to spend big on players that then won't be used.

Club reportedly wants to get 200m from selling players and then will only buy starting quality players while La Masia kids will take on squad roles. At the same time also don't want to sign players for the positions where we have these kids, so no big money spend for RW ahead of Yamal for example. Makes sense on paper but we'll see if/how his plan will work.

Deco will have to be a genius. It all sounds a bit Valencia, and we saw how badly that went.

A lot of rumours about Aleix Garcia, seems like we think of him as our future defensive midfielder.
A CM moved to CDM who looks good under Michel's Girona. Not too optimistic about it tbh.

His release clause is 20M with some rumours that it becomes lower next summer (14M) and with Girona having interest in keeping the likes of Eric, Torre & Romeu, it seems feasible even with our dire financial situation. So, my guess it is just another option forced by financial constraints like Romeu.

On another news, we are interested in 16 years old CDM from H.Berlin.

Garcia has been been class this season.

Can strike a better ball than any Barca mid with those zinger passes out wide no Barca mid has had in years. Got a bit of aggression and dig to him also.

Assuming he would keep that level up he would be an absolute snip.

Do you see him as CM or DM in Barca?

Was taking a look at Estevao Willian games so far as he is playing in Campeonato Paulista (Sao Paulo regional tournament) and it doesn't seem good so far tbh.
He played as sub in only 2 games, and was on on the bench in another one and not selected in the 4th.

The first game was against internacional de limeira which is a 4th division team, he played 6 minutes and according to 365 score, he had 11 toughes, 4/5 correct passes, dispossessed 5 times
2nd game was against a decent side, RB bragantino and he played 28 minutes, lost the ball 7 times while having 3/6 accurate passes.
Game highlights in both didn't show anything from him.
Obviously I didn't watch the games but it doesn't feel like good games from him. He is still 16 (17 in April) but player like Endrick was showing a bit more last year at same age or slightly younger.

In Brazil youth tournaments he is absolute menace btw, no doubt

A quick reminder that Andre Curry was recommending we close the deal before U-17 World Cup because his price will get higher after he dominates the tournament, which he didn't. Wasn't called up for the U-23 tournament either.

I still believe he is great talent (mostly from youth highlight videos) but atm he didn't show enough to warrant 40-60M his club wants
