Dumb. We need to just spend the money for a proper CB. Mangala, Benatia, Laporte, Martinez are all available for roughly the same price and the fact that we can't figure out how to pay 40-45 million in an area that has needed reinforcing in for over three years yet spend up to 70 million on a cheat who bites everything in sight is just plain ludicrous.
God help us if we don't get a real CB. We all know Mathieu ain't gonna cut it.

Hes considered one of the biggest talents in Brazil and alot of clubs are keepeing an eye on him.
I feel the same way. Feels like were "settling" with Mathieu. We need to build up a new strong defense, and for that we need one of the ones you mentioned (dont rate Martinez that high though)
It doesn't make sense to pay 40M+ on potentials like Mangala or Laporte or Marquinhos imho, for all we know, they could turn into another Caceres. For that money, you only should buy an established defender. But then again, can you consider 27y old Benatia, who only had 1 or 2 top seasons yet, an established defender? It's a difficult topic.
Strange that we haven't been linked more to Inigo Martinez, he's a lower buyout-clause I think (30M?). He was such a highly rated CB last summer, how come now he's not in the spotlights anymore? Did he have a poor season?

Inigo Martinez had a pretty shitty season. I would not go anywhere near that buyout price for him until he proves he can go back to the form he showed 2 years ago.

I thought the board would at least get Mussachio or Fazio. Hell even Luiz would have been better. Our board has no respect for defenders and it will come back to bite them.

Alejandro Balbi is Uruguay National Team's lawyer, not Luis Suarez lawyer. He is gonna meet Liverpool in Barcelona to discuss a possible action against FIFA for Suarez' 4 month ban as it's having an impact on Liverpool Football Club who had nothing to do with LS while he was at national duty.
Now why they're meeting in Barcelona when they can meet together in Liverpool or somewhere else is ofc something the catalan media is gonna use to twist to their own favour and agenda and rumour spreading.
AFAIK, Mr. Balbi said nothing about Luis Suarez, Barcelona or Pere Guardiola, but I could be wrong ofc.....

We don't know if he'll be the only one. But they could have got him last summer, for 10m. And will pay more one year later... So Zubi.

We were heavily linked to him last year as well so maybe Zubi actually did his job, but Rosell or someone else blocked a potential deal? We cannot blame Zubi for everything, his hands might be tied to an extent.
