Some pages are locked (highly popular ones), only certain people can edit them. But many pages can be edited by anyone, but they will corrected eventually. Some very fast, some might take days. Depending on the popularity.

I've heard it is very difficult for anyone without a good reputation and history of contribution to edit almost anything on wikipedia.
