Agree on Halilovic - he is more the type of player we need than Denis, but he is not ready yet. And yes - as MSN-sub an experienced player who accept his role would be good, as long as we also look for young talent up front, maybe to buy & loan out. Judging from the paper-reports the club hesitates to fulfil his wish to get Nolito or someone like him, and wants a younger version.
Yes, a worldclass CB would be worth breaking the bank for. I would suggest that we - other than that - buy an additional teen-CB or maybe a few even younger ones. As I wrote earlier Pique, Boateng, Godin didn't cost much. As of young defenders today you could name Varane at RM, Giménez at ATM, Zouma at Chelsea, Mustafi at Valencia - all dirt cheap! We should secure our future at all positions, and a good place to start could be the CB-spot

True, but do you trust our board to find those kind of gems? Besides that; when Barcelona is interested in a defender, their asking price doubles. That's the main problem; the Valencia's and Atletico's of this world don't have to deal with this issue and get players like Mustafi for a reasonable price. Personally, I think we should trust on La Masia to produce our next centre back. For now we would have Piqué, Mascherano, Mathieu and Marquinhos/Laporte, with Rodrigo Tarin coming up our youth ranks. Adrian Marín (Villarreal) could play both LB and CB, he could be a fine addition.

True, but sure we can do better than now: Chelsea with Zouma and RM with Varane proves that it is possible - and latest Vallejo - why didn't WE buy this promising spanish talent?
And no I'm sceptical towards the boards qualifications but I hope they prove me wrong and look a little ahead when signing new players.
I completely agree with you on that; we could and should do better. Of course I would love a Zouma/Varane/Gimenez kind of transfer, but I simply don't trust our board to pull one of those off. Samuel Umtiti might be one to take a look at, he's dominating at Olympique Lyon right now.

Denis is so vital to Villareal right now that they're fighting to keep him and Halilovic is Gijon's best player at current.
But they haven't impressed?

Are you saying he's never started, or are you saying he isn't starting, right now?
If you seriously think Halilovic hasn't been performing for Gijon you haven't been paying attention.

He started the first half of the season and won multiple player of the month awards.
He's been benched for months now. How does that square with him being "the best player at the current" as you claim?

What do you mean "Benched for months"? Wasn't it only a week or two ago that everyone was mad that he got Laporte sent off?
