Dont know if one should rather cry becouse thats probably very likely. Our club rather bring in poor performing former La Masia players and 30 year olds from other Spanish teams then actually scouting talents in other leagues.

So for me, logically, I want something along the lines of:
Starting CB: Laporte.
Backup forward: Nolito/Gameiro (people say guys like Sane but we'd be paying 30-40 million for these types. We have 15-20 at best for a backup.)
Backup leftback: I guess Alonso is the one being touted. I like Adrian Marin but he's not even 2nd choice at Villarreal, they play Rukavina (a right footed RB) there instead. So he's definitely not ready for us.
Denis Suarez: He's so cheap we have to get him. At this point I think he has more to offer for Iniesta in midfield, though Don can still be good, especially if rested.

Also, a young CB if possible. Maybe Jorge Mere. We need to start picking up youngsters and I think Mere is worth a punt, especially if Sporting go down.



Imo, though, we badly need a starting midfielder but we're not going to splurge on one this summer unless something drastic happens. I'd have Pogba in the morning.

I don´t think that we will sign a CB as expensive like Laporte,Mustafi or Stones.
I guess that´s why we looking at Umtiti who should be cheaper.

I wouldn't mind older and cheaper but experienced subs for some positions like forward and MF. Yaya Toure is 33 yo but can still give decent performance out of the bench for few more years just like Xavi last season. Nolito is also a cheap option for forward position, defiantly an upgrade to Pedro, but for CB, I think we should go for young talent, we have been talking about buying a young CB talent for so many years now.

Well, Mustafi proved his worth today. Either him or Umtiti i would say, or both. Realistic and not to expensive.

I am following the french league, and I can assure he's nowhere near the level required at Barça.

He hasn't played with us. And there's been 2 years since he was here. And there's been clear progression in him. He's not only capable at center mid like Sevilla, he's well capable of playing out left or right. If you've been watching him play now, you'd see he's been a crucial part of a top 4 team that's in a semi final in Europe. Off the top of my head, I would guess only Bruno and maybe Victor Ruiz have played more than him. He's done way more than Rafinha, whose best performance for us was like a 7/10, and we barely got that from him, and that was before a year ending injury too.


We're on the same page; Barca need a new starting midfielder, but Suarez is a clear step up from Rafinha. And Iniesta offers us nothing in terms of final ball. Look at Suarez' stats and tell me he hasn't been way more fruitful, regardless of position. Not to mention, it's 3 million. At worst, he doesn't develop here, and we sell him for 5 times that.

We absolutely have to fill out the squad.
