How pathetic we are when some lousy teams like West Hamm plan to spend more then us... :bash:

We are trying to buy some mediocre old players and we are suppose to be the best club in the world?

What do you think Real will do this summer? City? PSG? Juve? They will spend big to have mighty, quality teams and bench. And we will spend peanuts on mediocre old players and pray to God for help...

Newcastle spent over 80 M last season... Newcastle, hey!

1-We have the biggest wage bell of all clubs ,we are actually spending as much ,just more on wage than transfers .that is the cost of having such gr8 starting line up
2-Gameiro is a world class player ,not a mediocre by any mean .he is a gr8 fit .29 isn't also that old .can easily give us at least 3 very good years specially considering he is a late bloomer
The problem with his age is the average age of the squad . most of the squad are either born in 83-84 or 87-88 . having such high average age and small variety in age could cause a total rebuild in the future rather than a continuous retooling

EPL teams earn a lot (in billions) from domestic and international TV rights. A club like newcastle will earn around EUR 95 millions per year from TV rights while Barcelona will earn around EUR 130 millions. Now consider total current liabilities is much higher in Barcelona from salaries to operating cost etc. Now you know why newcastle have so much money.

I know that, but we are Barca, we harvest the trophys, we are most atractive team for sponsors, we have biggest stadium, we took CL money, we did all... and some Newcastle has more cash to spend then us? Can you imagine what would happend if it was the other way around-if we were club fighting for survival in Primera and they were CL winners?

Newcastle spent more than Barca, Real and Bayern in 15/16.

It has been one summer of spending from them after years of very little.

Teams in the EPL can have one off seasons like that but it does not show in any way they have more money to spend year on year than the top clubs.

You should thank Rosell & Bartomeu
Just an example:
We're getting 32mill / year from Nike
Manchester United is getting 94 mill / year from Adidas

Gameiro are you kidding me, we need one player through the spine of the team, that will make the starters feel on edge if they don't perform

Just a reality check here.... do we have the money to rejuvenate the squad ? The wage bill is crippling, we're talking about this new stadium revamp (although we don't have a big sponsor to help pay for it).

Lucho doesn't trust any of our youngsters, Bob aside. He's just looking for a quick fix whilst we still got Messi. There's also the huge PL money to contend with.

That leaves us with a (mostly) ageing first 11, with little chance of decent, younger replacements and as things stand, it doesn't look good for the next few years.
